A Starlight Grocery Store

Grocery stores in Starlight are different and largely worse than Earth grocery stores. There is worse selection of vegetables, as most Starfolk have difficulty with their textures, and many common flavourings such as mustard (a brassica and thus never tamed on Starlight) and soy sauce (a fermented food that was never developed due to Starlight’s lack of interest in alcohol) are not available in stores. Starfolk are generally less culinarily adventurous than earth humans.

Products earth humans would not recognize do exist on the shelves, however - a large amount of fruit preserves and derivatives created from Starlight’s endemic fruit, the peach-like persine, and its nutrient-rich pits which can be ground down into calavera, as well as products made from the broadleaf Elishes, from which ellecol (a stimulant and aphrodisiac that is Starlight’s endemic drug) is derived.

Perhaps most illuminating, however, is the impulse buy area near the checkout. Items commonly sold here include…

• Cheap, flimsy colouring books, with intricate and beautiful fantasy or anime pages. Adult colouring is a phenomenon on Starlight because its anxious population finds the craft deeply relaxing.
• Tiny modelling or craft kits, mostly of flowers, bonsai, or animals; may be plastic, papercraft, bracelet-making, etc. Present for similar reasons to the colouring books.
• Keychain and bag plushies, to keep with you in daily life. These comforts are not considered marked on Starlight the way that carrying a plushie with you day to day on Earth would be. Most commonly foxes, snails, birds and dragons for full-sized plushies, while keychains are commonly hearts, stars, and spirals.
• Persine energy bars, granola bars with calavera in them, gummies, mints, fruit flavoured gum - but nothing with chocolate in it, which was never industrially developed on Starlight.
• Fruit-flavored sodas in glass bottles. Plastic exists on Starlight, but is not considered food-safe. Orange, grape, persine and cherry are the most popular soda flavours. Root beers and flavoured milks are also popular.
• Kink magazines. Generally the covers are kink-influenced art, while the insides are outright pornography. Some may run erotic stories or captioned art; others are more like hentai manga on earth. Starlight, having had reliable contraception for about twenty thousand years, is significantly more relaxed about erotic content than Earth.
• Pop science magazines, which generally assume more general scientific background than Earth pop science magazines do.
• Fiction magazines and regular manga from popular series. Starfolk love the craft of fiction and commonly read voraciously.
• Basic lube, batteries, mechanical pencil refills [both colored and graphite]. Common consumables that many Starfolk will absentmindedly forget if not reminded to top up on them.
• Whichever fidget toy is in style this month, in a wide variety of styles and appearances.

Bad future Yapping

I made Starlight to be silver mom or a distant relative, depending on where I want her to be or the aus I have planned in that moment. So I made it into a 50/50 chance that Starlight will be Silver Mom. Sure, there are many factors. Like, who is she marrying with, the type of au, I am in the mood for deep angst or fluff, is there going to be a complicated story, or am I going to follow close to canon, is it going to be a one-shot or a full made au, etc. I go through many trials and errors in my head before going deep on a au. Sometimes my moots hear me yap about small ideas I have, or I ask them for feedback.

And so thinking about this. The idea for Starlight to be Silver Mom was never meant to be a thing, but looking over one of the very first drawings I did of Starlight, which was made on June 12 of 2025, I saw that there was writing. Like actual note I left there. To think I lost all the first drafts of Star. Never knew I kept them in a drawing. Me was smart lol. 

As you can see from the pic, there is a lot of old info that I still use and other that I just don’t. You can see somewhat the alternative names I had for her, aus ideas before I changed it, as well adding more stuff to make Starlight be who she is today. One important thing I did was remove all the original plane and old au that was supposed to be linked to another oc. It still feels surreal about it. I’m happy that I made her quills thicc and a bit long than the og design. Anyway, side quest of me guessing about my girl and everything I love about her aside. Let’s go back to the silver quest.

So, as I was saying, the only au that would guarantee silver birth to be a direct link to starlight is on the bad future au. I know that silver is from the bad future, and I know that this doesn’t make sense. However, when Star has him, it’s always on a good future, and when a bad future silver visits the past, he won’t recognize Star because she’s his great-great-grandma in that timeline. By that time, two generations had skipped the telekinesis power, making Silver the only generation that didn’t skip the power. At the same time, no one knew about it, and he was forced to learn about these powers alone. Side note, don’t worry about that part of the lore, I am in the middle of writing it on a separate section of my Google Doc rn.

Things is starligh has to be in a bad future, so silver can be born no matter what. This is silver’s destiny, and it’s the only time where starlight would be forced out of her secret. Out of hiding her true powers and abilities. She will have silver in an exhausted state since she be overusing her telekinesis to protect them, and when he is around 3 years old and already showing his telekinesis ability, she will teach him how to use it. 

Now the difference between these two bad futures has to do with Silver’s ability to use his telekinesis. Normally, he is more on the defensive side and knows only one offensive moveset, but with Starlight being the one in this bad future instead of one of her descendants. Silver will learn offensive moveset from the get-go and only defensive moveset from his mother. 

Starlight’s way of using her telekinesis is more of a Shoot first and ask questions later type. This will not have any consequences if Silver visits the past and just hurts the living shit out of someone or Egg Man…Poor Sonic. Sarcasm aside. Silver would be much safer in this bad future. Sure, this is my headcanon and stuff, but I feel like the other bad future silver will rely a lot on his environment to fight, and when he has nowhere to hide or throw objects at the enemy, so he is forced to find an effective way to fight but doesn’t know how to use it well. Yes, he will be using his telekinesis to its full potential, and that way the marks on his hands stay permanent like a screen burn, but that doesn’t mean he is using his power efficiently. 

While the other bad future silver knows how to use his telekinesis on a fight. Yes, he can still use his environment, but only when he is being cornered or necessary, but he doesn’t rely on it like the other silver. Yes, he uses his telekinesis to its full potential just like the other silver, leaving the marks screen burn on his hands. 

Now, starlight won’t be around to see silver grow in this world. Hell Silver was six years old when she pushed her son away from danger. Yelling at him to run and never look back as she gets killed by one of eggman robots or any current enemy of that time. Yes, she could have protected herself, yes, she could have overpowered them and won, but she was over her limits. She has been overusing one of her most demanding telekinesis abilities the moment the bad future started.  She had powernaps, little food to eat, so Silver could have a full meal. She was by default destined to die any day now. 

Here, a side note. All of starlights movesets have their own energy usage as well side effects to them. I didn’t want to make her op or a Mary Sue, so I just gave out reasonable limits to everything, and also depending on her ability. The one she was using a lot is called Soulpiercer. This type of telekinesis can create a temporary weapon for the battle; however, it takes a lot of her energy to the point that after she done using it. Starlight will faint and be unconscious for a week or two. There is a small loophole where she can still use it, but that relies on her adrenaline. 

Here, one more thing that can nail this bad future perfectly. You know that I said Silver was six years old when Starlight died saving him, right? Did you also know that at the age of 3 to 7 years old, a child will forget someone from their memories. Yeah, Silver has no memory of his mom other than the faint shape of her quill, however he had already forgotten that by the time he turned 16. So if he ever visits the past and meets his mom. He would not have any recognition of her, but he will have this odd sense of safety with her and won’t know why.

Emmie Bovine

Emmie (actual first name Emerald) is a steadfast and dependable baker. She’s extremely loyal to the people she cares about and her goals, and is persistent, being able to go through challenges without getting too discouraged and is calm under pressure. She’s also very reliable, following through on her promises and is consistent with her behavior, coming off as trustworthy to other people. She can also be very stubborn and self-indulgent. Once she’s made her mind up about something, it’s hard for her to change it, so she often won’t change her way of doing things, even if there’s a better way to do it. She’s prioritized on comfort and pleasure by all means, so she tends to overspend, overeat and/or oversleep.

When she graduated high school, she attended a college aiming for a bachelor’s degree in Pastry Arts, but it was very mentally draining, so she decided to leave after her associate’s degree. Now she has an at home Baking Business called The Cookie Stables, where, as the title implies, she bakes and sells cookies via deliveries and farmer markets.

She’s 22 years old, and her birthday is April 26th.

Virginia Puella

Virginia is a thoughtful and organized actress. She adores being helpful to other people and is often the first to offer such. She’s analytical, with a keen eye for detail and is great at finding solutions. She’s also very orderly, striving for everything to be perfectly CLEAN, organized and structured, for things like her room, to her house, and her outfits. She’s also a perfectionist and is neurotic. She has incredibly high standards for her self and others, and is often disappointed when those standards aren’t met, so she can hard to please at times. She also overthinks, which often leads to her getting overanxious.

She had a very close relationship with her mother, sharing a tooth gap and a love for all aspects of theater. She participated in various theatre related activities, mainly working at backstage productions and background actors, but she does hope to have a larger role one day. Her mother passed away when she was 18, increasing her already high standards for herself. Regardless, she’s an extremely diligent person when it comes to theater, being even more so when given the opportunity for larger roles.

She’s 22 years old and her birthday is August 25th.

Capricia Aegagrus

Capricia is an ambitious, and responsible florist. She’s driven to succeed and is goal-oriented, trying her best to build long term success. She’s very disciplined, with lots of self-control, responsibility and a strong work ethic. She’s also able to hold herself accountable if she messes up. She’s also pessimistic and a workaholic. She’s often expects the worst to happen to avoid being disappointed, focuses on potential problems and sometimes discounts the positives.

Because they live in space, agricultural jobs are the ones with a higher income. Her parents hoped for a path with farming, but she chose a more floral path instead. She grew up uptight always going by her father’s instructions everything, receiving punishment whenever she disobeyed, but she realized that he didn’t always have her best interest in mind despite him being her father, so she became more determined on becoming a florist. Now she owns a greenhouse where she grows fruits, and other ornamental plants, and makes deliveries and floral arrangements.

She’s 23 years old and her birthday is December 28th.

Starlight: She/her, adult. When the Newton Star became sentient, she took control of an abandoned star themed animatronic and pretty much lived in until she discovered who she was. However, her magic rubbed off onto the animatronic and created a whole new sentient being much like herself. Star currently lives in the tsams dimension with her partner while her little sister, Starlight, continued to explore dimensions. She eventually created her own sanctuary out of an abandoned Pizza Plex in a dimension with animatronic rights. She’s been going around the multiverse and saving those she thinks need the most help, making sure they get a better life.

Salem: She/her, teen. A Jack O'Moon variant that was created for protection. After the death of her creator and the person she was meant to protect, she got lost and started wandering dimensions. Starlight found her and brought her to the Sanctuary in hopes of giving her a new purpose, home, and help her discover herself.

Crimson: He/they, teen. A Bloodmoon variant that had recently lost their twin when Starlight found them. He’s still very violent and full of bloodlust.

Moonbeam and Sunbeam: He/him for both, babies. Sun and Moon variants. Starlight’s twin boys and her only biological kids, created by magic and love.

Mercury: She/they, adult. Not much is known about Mercury’s backstory other than she was part of a line of celestial animatronics. She’s also Starlight’s wife.

Dogday: He/him, adult. He frequently visits the sanctuary and is besties with Starlight. He works as a private eye and is currently searching for his partner, Catnap, who has mysteriously disappeared.

Doey: He/him adult. It’s not exactly known what Doey’s job is but he’s extremely talented in many areas. He also knows the city like the back of his hand and knows pretty much anyone and everyone. He has three kids, Matthew, Kevin, and Jack.

The Bobbiedots: She/her for Rose and Gemini, She/they for Olive, adults. Starlight found them in the ceiling of the Pizza Plex and saved them from their broken monitor where they had spent for too long painfully glitching. Starlight gave them their own animatronic bodies, and they help anyone Starlight brings back find new homes, jobs, purposes, etc. in their new world.

Nyx: She/they, adult. A Moon variant. She’s actually a Shadow Moon, having been created in a portal accident, alongside her Sun counterpart, separating from the original Sun and Moon variants of their dimension. She is very powerful, almost rivalling Puppet. She later became very interested with Eclipse and became very clingy to him.

Eclipse: He/him, adult. Much like Tsams Eclipse, he was constantly abused and neglected by his Sun and Moon causing him to head down a road of vengeance. He didn’t really like Nyx once meeting her, found her creepy and annoying but grew to enjoy their company. He continued his journey of revenge and possibly getting the star but more so to gain the power to give Nyx an actual chance at living rather than being just a shadow. He nearly died in the process and Starlight saved him with the hope of redeeming him. He refused to leave without Nyx.

Puppet: He/Him, adult. Not much known about him but he has a deal with Starlight where she’ll bring him the souls of lost children so he can give them better lives or help them pass on.

14/03/2026: “Starlight”

My history with this song:

This was an early favourite that I kind of forgot but since a year or two ago it is BACK, baby. I LOVE IT!!!! (don’t ask me what my thoughts on early Beatles history have to do with this…………)

Thoughts:

“Starlight” brings me so much joy!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is underrated for reasons entirely beyond me. There’s something so timeless about the arrangement that feels like it’s out of about three decades at once.

I feel like this song is doing something very similar to “Mary’s Song”: an outside perspective love song set in the past as a penultimate track, which feels like a palette cleanser that gets Taylor out of her own head and functions as a hope-brinfer. It’s also reminiscent of the song “Timeless”.

The fact “Starlight” is explicitly Kennedy RPF is truly one of my favourite things Taylor has ever done. And of course, that’s storytelling + adaptation!!!

But also, it’s framed as a memory (“I met Bobby on the boardwalk, summer of ‘45”) annnnnd there’s the line “Never would forget how we moved” (though she can’t remember what the song was playing, despite retaining it was a “marvelous tune”).

Also a little problem of suffering! “He said 'Look at you, worrying too much about things you can’t change / You’ll spend your whole life singing the blues if you keep thinking that way.’”

Favourite lyric: “He was trying to skip rocks on the ocean, saying to me / 'Don’t you see the starlight, starlight? / Don’t you dream impossible things?’” !!!!!!!!

Favourite melodic line: I love how she sings “Like we dream impossible dreeeeeaaaaams” right at the end, a lovely little run.

Starlight (Fiction)

Even starlight dies. (Genre - General , Rating - PG)

The stars shine.

They have shined for millennia. They shine across the emptiness of space, where no sound can travel, a silent marker to enable humanity to describe the universe.

Their surfaces are not as serene as the distant specks of light in a night sky might suggest. The boil, they writhe, they are huge gaseous monsters that define the power of the universe. From within the raging surfaces, where chemistry and physics intertwine to force new elements out into space, light is born. The sparkling star in the sky is a pulsating beast that fires off huge arcs of molten metal into space, only for it to come crashing down back on the star’s surface due to the immense force of gravity.

Stars mark the violent birth of the universe, and like all things as vast as the universe, they are barely understood. Something so gentle, so serene in the distance, describes the ability for life to be made in that part of the solar system. Stars write the rules that govern how plants will grow and what colours they have to be to survive. Stars will create plants from rocks that tumble through the darkness of space, drawing them into an orbit and prescribing them a new path.

And the end of a star’s life, when it has burned and sparkled for millennia, it will shine brighter than ever before. It will grow, far larger than any human mind can comprehend, swallowing planets into its expanding size until it can grow no more.

Then, in a moment, it hangs on the edge of a precipice. The universe waits and watches, holding its breath as the edges of the star tumble back towards the centre again, gathering speed until it explodes with such power and force it will shake the very fabric of space around it.

Yet there will be no sound. Sound cannot travel in space, but the light that flares from it will travel millions of years across the universe. It will travel through galaxies, between galaxies, until it touches the atmosphere of some distant world. There, it will continue to fall towards the life that lies below on the planet, whose eyes turn upwards just at the right moment to catch a star shimmering brighter than the others.

Then the light will die, and so will the remains of the star. That corner of space will darken now, no longer visible to the life that looks up at the heavens for comfort. A reminder, perhaps, that everything in the universe is not eternal.

Even starlight has to die.

Some doodles and a little bit of info on eldritch Weeping and Glitch from @sunnydbeam when the stars fade to black au. These are just random facts, so they aren’t in any particular order.

Eldritch Weeping can’t stay out of water for to long unless it’s raining as he starts to dry out. Sometimes him and Glitch need to move areas ( like if there’s to much pollution or people start to destroy their home) Because Weeping dries out they can only leave when it’s raining.

Glitch lost his legs to a group of cryptid hunters when they tried to capture him. He cut them off after getting them stuck in a trap. He could hear them coming and cutting them off was the fastest way he could escape.

Weeping lived in an abandoned indoor water park for years before meeting glitch. The still water made him sick along with the rotting trash and other debris he lived in. When Glitch found him, Weeping was almost dead. After Weeping (who was terrified of him as he had been attacked by other eldritch beings before) had explained why he couldn’t leave, glitch waited until there was a huge storm and took Weeping to a nearby river until he was better.

I want to make life easier for her. I want to bring her stability. I want to soothe her anxieties. I want to be close to her.

despite everything, konni & starlight are a really good match. imagine starlight having to apprentice under literally anyone else, they’d be so mean to her. it’s very important for creepy weird girls to have a mean bossy lesbian watching over them. you understand.
