Wanted to practice some rendering so I drew Rainey. I tried to render the water but it’s a bit off so whatever. I think I’m going to do a study on how to render better soon so I’m not too sure yet!

James is my comfort character. He’s genuinely been getting me through these past hard couple of months. Love you, my pookiebear. He also just reminds me of my husband irl so it’s even sweeter. Love you too, pookums.

Tbh, I actually like writing/reading needy!James, but in my current project (a sequel of the Incongruous fic), the neediness is sort of overshadowed by depression and a lack of real, intimate closeness.

Idk if I will keep this thought, but I liked the thought of James being truly and honestly needy only when feeling comfortable and in love enough with someone, then it could be more obvious and sweet.

Plus, it is so easy to get into pitfalls and make him too needy-mellow for his sadness and love of Mary or, on the other hand, hardened because of what he did to her (and what he couldn’t do for the others, too.)

Like a fellow said on AO3, James can be charactized as a detached character (SH dissociation related) with a hard edge with all the sadness/guilt and potential, barely repressed, cynism.

Also, I can’t say I’m writing based on remake!James, which seems to be way softer in a way; people have told me they made him more sympathetic to current audiences (although I personally don’t think he wasn’t before, but I get it).

(I didn’t play or watch anyone play much of the remake, I’ve only seen a few things here and there…)

I just finished Silent Hill 2, and got the fuckin water ending…
