Think I might have overestimated how much Emmett was gonna be able to test Vallejos. Was hoping that Emmett’s power, wrestling, and generally floatiness would give Vallejos enough pause to have to box a little from range but dude just got in Emmett’s grill and smoked him. No hesitation. Cracks Emmett with a 2-3-2 where both rear hands land as Emmett tried to explode forward on a shifting right himself. Drops Emmett. Emmett tries to recover but gets put on the fence and with some good shot selection, he puts Emmett away.
Not sure what you do with Vallejos. Guys ranked above Emmett that aren’t booked include Ortega and Jean Silva. And don’t want to see either of those fights (for different reasons). There’s also Yair Rodriguez, who’s apparently injured and working towards his pilot’s license? There’s also the loser of Evloev-Murphy which is just next week. We got Pico-Pitbull and Sterling-Zalal next month too. Options I guess.
Not the exciting submission win I was hoping for but Robertson got a convincing win over a former title challenger so not complaining. There’s something to be said about being dogged and just sticking to a gameplan. Robertson never deviates from hers - pressure into wrestling exchanges. Make it messy if you have to but get the opponent to the ground. Cause from there, she’s as good as anyone at 115lbs. Suffocating top control mixed with constant submission threats and funky offense (elbows to the body! Thank you). After being unable to wrestle down Lemos in the first and getting touched up on the feet, she storms back in the 2nd and immediately gets Lemos down. From there, Robertson keeps her there til the round is almost over. Similar in the 3rd. Probably not gonna get her a title shot but have to imagine some type of title eliminator is on the way if Zhang Weili vs Mackenzie Dern is indeed next.

Easy night of work for Cutelaba. Seems to have finally found his center and is no longer imploding in fights. That said, Sy imploded like crazy. Not even sure Cutelaba had that guillotine in for like .5 seconds before Sy tapped. Pure panic tap. That or he threw the fight, which is now a thing I have to worry about for everyone of these types outcomes.
