Poison Politix presents: Pick Your Poison
A punchy punk single released on the fourth anniversary of the war in Ukraine, framing frustration with global politics in sharp, direct terms.

This is a great day for punk rock. Not only are we finally getting a long-awaited new song from Social Distortion, but we also get to check out a new track from Poison Politix, titled “Pick Your Poison.” This is a tightly wound punk rock single that leans into confrontation without losing focus. Drawing from the stripped down urgency of The Clash, the sneer of Sex Pistols, and the blunt force attack of Black Flag, the band keep their message direct and unvarnished.

The track runs on hard-hitting guitars and a rhythm section that refuses to sit back. There is a garage rock looseness that nods to New York Dolls, but the tone is more confrontational than nostalgic. Poison Politix are not interested in retro poses. Instead, they use familiar punk language to address a present that feels unstable and divided.

Released on the fourth anniversary of the war in Ukraine, Pick Your Poison arrives as a statement of solidarity and frustration. While the lyrics do not reference a specific conflict, the band’s timing is deliberate. The song pushes back against binary thinking and political narratives that reduce complex issues into forced choices. Its central idea is simple: the options offered by those in power often feel equally compromised.

There is no attempt to soften the message. The performance is raw, the structure efficient, and the intent clear. Poison Politix use Pick Your Poison to argue that enough is enough, and that passive acceptance is no longer viable. In doing so, Poison Politix reaffirm punk’s original function as protest music for a world that keeps repeating the same mistakes.
