Ambientato 300 anni dopo l’acclamato Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yotei è un’esperienza autoconclusiva ambientata nel Giappone rurale del XVII secolo”.
Ghost of Yotei: la trama
Ci troviamo, precisamente, 329 anni dopo gli eventi raccontati nel videogioco Ghost of Tsushima, ad Ezu (Hokkaido), nel 1603. Ghost of Yotei In questo videogioco vestiremo i panni di Atsu, una mercenaria solitaria in cerca di vendetta. Sedici anni prima, infatti, la sua famiglia è stata massacrata per mano dei “Sei di Yotei”, degli spietati samurai guidati da Lord Saito. Atsu in cerca di vendetta per la sua famiglia si mette in viaggio attraverso i magnifici paesaggi del Giappone del nord. Nel corso del suo viaggio, tra terre inesplorate e sfide da affrontare, incontrerà alleati inaspettati e scoprirà legami più profondi di quanto avesse mai potuto immaginare.
Il sequel di Ghost of Tsushima
Questo titolo non è esattamente un sequel. Sebbene il videogioco ha molto in comune con il suo predecessore, compresa una buona parte del titolo, esso si presenta come un prodotto indipendente e completamente slegato da Ghost of Tsushima. Ghost of Yotei, infatti, può essere tranquillamente giocato senza aver mai nemmeno visto Ghost of Tsushima. Questo non vuol dire, però, che i fan che tanto hanno amato (e giocato) il primo titolo, non ritroveranno moltissimo di esso in questo secondo gioco, a partire dallo stile, dalle ambientazioni, dalle musiche e dalla palette cromatica. Per quanto riguarda personaggi e storie, quello che vedremo in questo titolo non avrà nessun collegamento con il suo predecessore, d’altronde sono passati più di tre secoli dalle vicende raccontate in Ghost of Tsushima.
Ghost of Yotei: il gameplay
Questo titolo si presenta come un action adventure in terza persona, con le dinamiche classiche di un open world e di un free roaming. Ghost of Yotei Non ci sono grandi novità nelle meccaniche di gioco o colpi di scena. Da questo punto di vista Ghost of Yotei non porta nessuna novità, ma ci porta uno stile videoludico al quale ogni videogiocatore è abituato, ovvero un piacevole open world esplorabile, con la giusta dose di azione. Ciò che è davvero interessante, infatti, è la storia, le relazioni interpersonali tra i personaggi e i magnifici paesaggi che ci trasportano all’esplorazione del Giappone del nord restando, comodamente, seduti nelle nostre case.
I combattimenti
Interessanti sono anche i combattimenti, i quali portano qualcosa di diverso rispetto a Ghost of Tsushima. Sebbene le dinamiche di base sono quelle che i fan della saga hanno potuto giocare nel titolo precedente, stile Assassin’s Creed, troviamo diversi accorgimenti e miglioramenti. C’è, ovviamente, ancora una volta una forte predisposizione per le armi bianche e gli scontri ravvicinati e il tempismo è un elemento fondamentale nel corso di ogni combattimento. Aumentano le armi e nel corso del gioco scopriremo che utilizzare l’arma giusta al momento giusto sarà fondamentale per uscire vittoriosi da ogni singolo incontro.
Alla scoperta del Giappone
Il vero punto di forza di Ghost of Yotei, così come lo era stato per il suo predecessore, è la grafica e la ricerca della perfezione nei paesaggi e in ogni piccolo dettaglio. Le ambientazioni e i panorami sono mozzafiato e curati meticolosamente. Tutto ciò rasenta la perfezione, dai petali in volo, al passaggio dal giorno alla notte, fino a quel piccolo strato di nebbia che aleggia sopra alle risaie sui pendii del Monte Yotei. Le musiche sono altrettanto straordinarie e studiate per immergerci nella tradizione giapponese dell’epoca.
