Ok so Trump wants NATO to help (escort ships, I think, but not quite sure. Please fact-check) in the Strait of Hormuz, or else it’s not a “good NATO” anymore.
Two things.
One: that’s not the purpose of NATO. NATO is a defensive treaty, which helps members when they are getting attacked. (Yeah, it sounds like it could work like Trump wants, but bro. NATO isn’t meant for that, I’m pretty sure.)
Secondly: Dear Mr. President. NATO isn’t a good NATO anymore since you went off to do your own thing.
Trump is blackmailing an organization into something it isn’t meant for, because of something he did and threatens it with that exact thing as if it hadn’t happened yet.
