Song Review:: N.Top: WE:DISCONNECT- Stay With U {Debut}
There have been a lot of debuts already this year, which is worrying because as we all know, the kpop market is currently quite saturated. On the one hand, the second and third gen groups aren’t disbanding like their first gen predecessors had by this point in their careers, which is good because it gives the younger artists reliable seniors to look up to and learn how all of this works (and to protect them if need be). On the other hand, because the older groups are so dominant, they’re not moving out of the way so that the younger groups can grow into their own (insert comparison to a mature forest). Which is a problem.
Still! This group comes to us with an entire adult line. No children to be seen! I had a little bit of difficulty finding them, so I included links to four different streaming services. They have really low numbers, y'all. Please give them a chance.
“Okay, so I will give this to the company. They gave them a proper music video at debut. They could have gone with a full vibes and visuals music video, which would have matched the tone of the song and I would have been disappointed, but understanding. But a science fiction music video? Yes, please. Also, one of the members made me laugh, because we have another Ren situation, where I thought that member was a girl and I was confused. And then I realized I’d done it again.”
