“They fear you, my lady,” whispers Gwen.
But rather than be dismayed by their fear as she would have been once, Morgana finds that she revels in it.

Katie McGrath and Colin Morgan being absolute saints in a clip from Sam and Mark’s Big Friday Wind Up from 2011 (1x04)
“I pick friends the way my father taught me how” edited over a picture of Morgana and Morgause doing witchcraft.
Sure, Uther would have taught Morgana to befriend a magical survivor, his own enemy. Sure, being a witch is what Uther would have taught.
I don’t even know what it is, the usual demonisation of Morgause or the same usual equating any fight with Uther as being like him. That it’s a mor*gwen edit adds layers too, Gwen means “light”, “light” means humility.

OOC : I ended up coming down with a horrible migraine Friday night and haven’t managed to rid myself of it yet so I may not be here until tomorrow if it’s even gone by then fingers crossed
Morgana Hint!: WHA?? Why do I get bone cancer?! Why is this fanfic thing you’re reading keen on torturing me?!

I feel an unfathomable pressure…
Is it perhaps due to being told that I’ll be expelled from school…?
BWAHahahaha
得体の知れない etai no shirenai is more literally “of an unknown(unknowable?) nature”, so strange, mysterious etc, but you can guess why I decided to make this particular choice of a translation, but omg this was so funny to me, especially all his tossing and turning XDD
Morgana Hint!: They should make earmuffs for animals! The sounds of the subway can be grating…

I believe I screenshot these because I was very amused by Soujiro actually liking Morgana but damned if he said that XD
まったく mattaku means “completely” if used in a sentence, but otherwise like here it is used as an expression of exasperation. My dictionary gives “good grief” as an option to translate it to. Not to mention that the -yagaru verb end modifier implies one’s hatred, contempt or disdain for another’s action. So,
Good grief… because it was calling out(derogatory) in a cute voice…
Had such a blowing hot and cold feel about it to me and I was laughing a lot about it.
But as Morgana says:

It seems like the master likes me (even) more that you?
(“master” (ご主人 goshujin in katakana) here as in “master of the house” kind of thing or “proprietor”, frankly there really isn’t a nice term to translate this into that would put it into the exact category of its use and that does irritate me a bit…)
After this, I think Morgana was irritating me too much because dang didn’t I do enough for you or something, I don’t remember what the Q&A was but I believe I picked something on the more sarcastic side for it because XDD
“I heard you this morning”.
Ren almost choked on his water. “Uh, yeah. I must’ve been fighting something in my sleep”. His cheeks burned as he sipped his water. There was no way in hell he was going to tell Morgana that he felt good enough to get off. It’s bad enough to get off to the thought of the guy who betrayed you. Let alone him doubling as your murderer.
But could you really call someone a murderer if they killed your cognitive double? Sure, Akechi killed people, but Ren wasn’t sure if he could call Akechi his murderer.
Ren rubbed the side of his head. At least the medicine helped with the dull pain in his head.

Caring for friends, with the added bonus of being a beauty… what a girl.
I, am totally captivated (lit. “my heart has completely been stolen”)
Nothing exceptional of note linguistically here (well there is for those who want to go through the nuances of it from a learning japanese point of view but otherwise not), just that I was very taken with how taken Morgana was about Ann XDD
“Akechi likes to have egg salad for lunch on Wednesdays”. Ren spooned the egg salad into the red container. “I thought it’d be a nice surprise”. He washed and dried his hands. “I washed my hands before starting”.
Morgana licked his paw. “I’m not the one you need to say that to”. A flash of purple caught his eye. “What’s that”?
“Edible flowers, pansies to be exact”. Ren said, sprinkling them over the egg salad. “I thought it would give it a bit more colour”.
A bit more colour was an overstatement. Morgana could see yellow, white, green, red, orange, blue and purple. “Did the recipe say to recreate the rainbow”?
Ren scratched him on the head. “I added celery, green onions, green peppers, red peppers, orange peppers, yellow peppers, and sliced eggplant”.
“I didn’t know Akechi was a five-year-old who needed to eat more vegetables”.
Ren laughed and clutched his stomach. “Sometimes he acts that way”. His eyes drifted to the clock—just five more minutes. He got himself a glass of water and placed it on the counter next to his pill bottle.
Morgana and Morgause, post S3, angst, dark

It didn’t start this bad.
It didn’t start like this.
At first she thought everything would be fine.
Her rage transported them into the middle of an unknown dark forest. Trees, shelter us. Moon, guide us. Shadows, welcome your daughters.
Shaking, Morgana checked her pulse and breathing. No blood on her calm face, no broken limb.
Morgause woke up, pale, but still strong.
“We can’t go back to the castle. They’ll be looking for us there. Anyone can betray us.”
I can’t, I can’t, Morgana thought desperately. Her ridiculous silk dress was dump and torn at the hem.
“I know a hovel deep in the woods. Our kind was hiding there during the Purge.”
They went there, and then she thought that nothing was over yet. That nothing could defeat them.
There is always a way out. Even if it’s a hovel.
Even if they have to lay low for a while. Together, they can handle everything. They had lost the battle but not the war. They had lost the crown but not power.
But three days later, just three nights, Morgana woke up to a heart-tearing scream.
It wasn’t hers this time.
Sister. She was clutching a mirror in her twisted hands and screaming in pain.
When Morgana looked, Morgause threw the mirror at her. And in the thousands of sharp shards—
a hag. a scolopendrae smashed by a rock. a creature locked in a shell of pain. perfect skin crippled in one night by the utmost fire.
It has caught up with her. It always does.
