Hello! Could I get more details or specifics regarding which cycle the question is asking about?

If the question refers to the cycle of familial abuse/dysfunction of Peeta’s family, I think he does try his best to break it. He was always so considerate (pre hijacking) and had a sense of humor that never left anyone feeling bad about themselves.

If you are referring to the cycle of violence he was caught in post hijacking, he does try his best to break the cycle by fighting against his hijacking to avoid hurting others and going to rehab. The fact that he returns to Katniss, to me, strongly implies he worked through the hijacking to get back to her. He would have had an easier time meeting someone else who he hadn’t ever been tortured to hate but he still went to rehab with the intention of going back to Katniss knowing the road to healing would be a difficult one.

If you’re referring to the cycle of the Hunger Games, yes, I do think he tried his best to fight against them and break the cycle. He was a rebel in his own right and used his strengths to fight against the capitol pre-hijacking. Post hijacking, he strongly advocated against a new hunger games for capital children. He was also in the rebellion but, since his mental state was very questionable during this time and the circumstances surrounding his presence on the star squad was suspicious, I’m not entirely certain this can be taken as him actively fighting against the hunger games versus being used as a pawn against Katniss.

Hope this helped!

Hello! Could I get more details on which cycle are you referring to?

If you are referring to the cycle of abuse in his family, I strongly think so. I can’t ever imagine him hitting his children or treating them how it seems Mrs. Mellark treated him. I also don’t see him standing by and staying quiet at seeing others abuse his children or even other people.

If you are referring to the cycle of the Hunger Games, yes. He was a strong advocate against the new Hunger Games Coin suggested.

If you are referring to the cycle of violence he was caught in (post hijacking), yes. He still has flashbacks but doesn’t hurt others and even managed to have a family with Katniss.

If you’re referring to a different cycle, feel free to send in another ask with more details! Hope this helped!

Rereading Mockingjay and I spotted this line by Coin when Katniss gave her condition of being the one to kill Snow:

“When the time comes, I’ll flip you for it.“ (Chapter 3).

When the time came, Katniss has to make a choice of getting revenge or stopping Coin. Coin flipped Katniss’s choice. And Coin herself placed herself in Snow’s position by wanting another hunger games.

What if in a district 13 training center (post cafeteria scene) Peeta was strangled by a Lou Lou of Katniss in the same way Peeta strangled Katniss, Katniss happens to be 8 feet away, any guard is 30 feet away, in your headcanon, how would she react? How would the nature of the danger shape her actions?

Run towards him to stop the Lou Lou

Wait for someone else to bring things back under control

Due to the nature of the danger, watch frozen and shocked

Run away from the site

I need everyone to know right now that Skydxddy released the official audio for Ceasefire and it is heavy on The Hunger Games references and it is going to be on repeat for me for the foreseeable future.

Underground. Which I hate. Like mines and tunnels and 13.

Underground, where I dread dying, which is stupid because even if I die aboveground, the next thing they’ll do is bury me underground anyway.”

For this shoot, I really wanted to capture how alone and vulnerable Katniss is during Mockingjay and I’m absolutely in love with how everything came together!!!

There are so many more photos from this shoot I can’t wait to share and maybe even the collab I did with @consatelecosplay may make an appearance!

A sutil (mas gigante) diferença no simbolismo do tordo. Enquanto no filme é um achado do acaso no Prego, no livro é uma herança de amizade e resistência. Madge Undersee merecia ter tido seu momento. 🏹

Unpopular opinion but these are the best lines in the hunger games series. THG is my fav of the OG trilogy but everything about that epilogue is peak and the last part - much worse games to play is just – yeah.

Quite a few, I think! Some of these are foods I’ve been curious about for many, many years rather than ones I’m hungry for, but have definitely caught my attention.

The Hunger Games

  • I love goat cheese, so I’d eat the goat cheese and berries on bread Katniss and Gale eat the morning of the reaping. Same goes for the “feast” Katniss and Peeta get in the cave: fresh rolls, goat cheese, apples, and the lamb stew. I tried lamb once and I enjoyed it (sorry, lambs)
  • Mushroom soup with bitter greens and rare roast beef
  • Noodles in a green sauce - I’d love to know what this is. Pesto, perhaps?
  • Cream and rose petal soup. I’ve never had roses in food before, I don’t think
  • I’m actually really picky about how I like my hot chocolate but I’d try the one here just to see where it stands
  • Groosling - I just imagine chicken wings
  • Wine hehe
  • I have put dandelions in my mouth before and I recall them being quite bitter?

Catching Fire

  • Not the seafood, I’m allergic
  • Mashed potatoes with parsley. For as shitty as the Capitol is, I bet they have really good mashed potatoes
  • Frothy pink soup with raspberries - I’d argue this is one of the foods I’ve been most curious about. It sounds good on a warm day!
  • Orange chicken (I know this is first mentioned in the first book but I already listed a ton so I bumped it down)
  • Warm milk and spices

Mockingjay

  • The wedding cake
  • Canned lamb stew
  • I LOVE turnips, hard to say how they taste in District 13 though

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

  • Peach pie
  • Buttered biscuits (not to be all mopey and sad but I heavily associate biscuits with my father so I’ve been making them a lot since he died)

Sunrise on the Reaping

  • Milk punch. I had it once and liked it
  • …gumdrops. I haven’t had gumdrop cake in SO LONG
  • Lavendar suckers. I love lavendar lattes!

Probably missed a few, I went through the “Food and drink” page on The Hunger Games wiki, however accurate that is.

I think they did train in the same room briefly after he cafeteria scene but were kept apart from each other. I’m not entirely sure I can answer this question. I think she would feel horrified and heartbroken over what was done to him as well as guilt because she may believe Snow did that to him because of her.

I’m not sure what she would do because she believes at this point that Peeta hates her, so she may not be willing to reach out to him.

This is a very hard question and I don’t think I can answer it but I suppose he would look a lot like he did after arguing with Katniss in the cafeteria, when he began arguing with himself and had to be removed from the situation.

Since he is near broken and not fully broken, I take this to mean he would be on the brink of a mental breakdown and trying very hard to hang on.

Since it says he is trying to help Katniss but not succeeding, I think he would be in a fair amount of emotional distress over her situation and maybe even conflicted if he should keep trying since his attempts are doing more harm than good.

In your headcanon at the outbreak of the second rebellion, which type of stranded capitolite could expect more mercy from district rebels?

Capitolite civil servants in government buildings located in the districts

Capitolite corporate office job commuters

Writes_Too_Much

An intro to my account, so to speak.

Hiya! I’m Writes_To_Much on here and on AO3! My asks are always open!

IRL I’m an equestrian, barefoot trimmer, artist, and professional nuisance. Here, I’m a dweeb who hyperfixates on characters with fuck-all in the canon to unhealthy degrees. :) District One and the Careers in general hold my soul.

I have a total of 14 Hunger Games fics on AO3. This blog is largely an artistic/aesthetic promo for those fics as well as just generally being a place for me to visualize the lore of the 3, yes 3, AUs I created for the Hunger Games. I also post random headcanons, theories, discussions, or whatever else Hunger Games I can think of. All Hunger Games all the time!

Cashmere is my absolute blorbo to end all blorbos. I will live and die writing fics about her depressing af life.

Also wildly interested in (dare I say hyperfixated on) the Careers of Panem, how those cultures vary between Districts, how outlier Districts view them, and how they get wildly disillusioned after their Victories. Enobaria owns real estate in my heart.

I heavily fuck with OCs, as well.

If you’re interested in Sinners fanfics, A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon fanfics, or general smut from multiple other fandoms, I’m probably also your girl but I won’t be posting about those here (unless I make a second blog, which is definitely tempting).

Here are my top fics for your browsing pleasure!

☾ doesn’t exactly inspire loyalty, does it? ☾
Cashmere Diives’ story as the iconic younger sister to Gloss Diives through her 11 years of Victory and, spoilers bc it’s an AU, surviving the Revolution of Panem. Rated E for obvious reasons. F/M.
Warnings includ
e: forced sibling incest, trafficking of minors, canon-typical violence, and general rape/non-con.

☽ when i said “i’ll never let you go” (i meant it) ☽
Gloss Diives’ story in an AU where Cashmere does not win the Hunger Games that follow his own. Instead, Lucullan Ferro, also of District One, comes home. An exploration of guilt, remorse, and a descent into madness for our lead. Rated E for reasons that become apparent quickly. F/M,
Warnings includ
e: rape/non-con, trafficking of minors, canon-typical violence, drugs abuse, and (very) bad coping mechanisms.

❄ can you hear the snow screaming? ❄
The 69th Hunger Games as told by the tributes and even a few Mentors. Unless you’ve read the rest of my Cashmere-verse or Cato/Clove-verse fics, the Victor is only revealed as they win, meaning you follow most every POV possible at least once. Rated E. Gen.
Warnings includ
e: graphic depictions of violence, sex and/or rape/non-con, and allusions to heavy themes like trafficking, drug abuse, violence, etc.

⌖ until the very end. ⌖
Johanna Mason’s story from win to defeat. Set in the same AU as the above so it isn’t entirely canon-compliant. Rated E. F/F.
Warnings include
: graphic depictions of violence, traffcking of minors, rape/non-con, drug abuse, and bad coping mechanisms.

🟇 indoctrination and consummation 🟇
Nothing sells the idea of love like a supposedly leaked sex tape. President Snow hires (forces) Cashmere Diives to tutor Katniss and Peeta in the ways of seduction and sex before they perform a scene to be leaked to the masses. Also includes a deleted scene of Cashmere and Gloss’. Rated E for obvious reasons. F/M.
Warnings include
: (mutual) rape/non-con, trafficking of minors, underage sex.

♕ she was named after the act of crying (that feels like foreshadowing) ♕
Pleur Diives, before she was the mother to two of Panem’s most famous Victors and the wife to arguably the second most powerful man in the Capitol, was a Victor herself. This is her story from the making of her own Victory through the bearing, rearing, and ruining of her family of Victors, and finally, the fitting end. Rated E. F/M.
Warnings include
: graphic depictions of violence, rape/non-con, trafficking of minors, forced pregnancy, heavy domestic abuse, and canon-typical atrocities. (Snow is his own warning)

❂ you’re fucking art, why do they choose to trash art? ❂
Rhubae Gallrock
: the pouty princess from District One who’s more than just sass and sex appeal. And Enobaria Fairsmith from District Two, more than just a throat-biter eager to coat her golden fangs in blood. An unlikely pair but an undeniable one. Rated E. F/F.
Warnings include: graphic depictions of violence, rape/non-con, trafficking of minors, canon-typical violence, major character death.

(it’s going to bother me to no end but I literally cannot un-bold Rhubae’s name. I’ve tried everything)
