7- Do they go to each other for advice? What about?
Yeah, like, all the time, it’s kind of a conditioned reflex. Even when they have no intention of taking the advice, if one has a doubt or a problem the other will most likely hear about it and at least give his two cents.
If you’d like a specific topic or instance, though… I do have this terrible hc where Matt gets with Linda when they’re like 13 and then asks Mello for romantic advice on purpose (how to torture Mello in 2 easy steps, yes) as that was the closest thing to a relationship between the two of them that they could have at the time🥺
11- Habits that they’ve picked up from each other
Lmao, right off the bat? Delinquency. But, no, okay, they definitely ended up one with the other’s mannerisms, gait, silly laugh, expressions in each other’s first languages, you know, small things that would unexpectedly pop up even during their years apart.
When they’re together they influence each other a lot, their respective habits naturally converging, e.g.: Matt may have more chocolate, or Mello may have a smoke every once in a while, or the way, during their stay in Japan, their place was never super tidy nor too messy. 18- An inside joke they share
They’re all based on some kind of personal attack, I’m afraid💀 when they’re younger they’re often on Near being sleepy or a total cvnt (sorry, it’s their pov), later on they’re on suspects’ characters… one less offensive one may be Matt randomly calling Mello Imhotep (bc of how he had to be wrapped up post 11/11, and it just kinda stuck), it’s always teasing in some way haha

20- Something they disagree on
Sativa (Mello) vs Indica (Matt) u.u
Rlly, though, they disagree on So Many things, ranging from fashion, to time management to… uhm.. hostage taking.
But generally they either ignore the disagreement and let each other do their own thing anyway or for the more serious stuff they try to understand the other’s point of view and compromise and be patient… like, Mello may promise not to cause *gratuitous* suffering and Matt, who isn’t big into intersectional feminism and social theory, will try to think and do better after listening to Mello’s reasons, ya know?
