Despite making the 15-film shortlist, ‘Homebound’ fails to reach the final five at the 98th Academy Awards
India may churn out around 2,000 movies per year, but it is yet to win a golden statuette in the coveted film categories at the Oscars.
The South Asian nation’s Oscar journey started in 1957, with Mother India narrowly losing the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film by a single vote…
Lights, Camera…Almost: Why India’s film powerhouse struggles at the Oscars | The Express Tribune
Lights hurt now.
We made them too bright,
Too sharp through the night.
We squint and look down,
Bear each scowl and frown,
Just trying to see past,
Hoping the lights aren’t fast.
Look at the dangers of cars
Beyond blinding us to the stars,
Making us look away from them
Even as we move between them.
We look for what doesn’t sting,
Even just feet and knees moving,
Ignoring what speeds towards
Why sometimes the smart are cowards.
But try and look again
Keep yourself safe and sane,
No need to be run over outside
If we can darken the lights they ride.
