The process of buying weed when it’s legal is so much more anxiety inducing for me than buying it from a dealer when it was illegal. Like I have to go into a well-lit building and then I’m given a menu of like a million different strains. And I always feel like the guys there are staring at me like it’s my first time buying weed because I act like it is and I’m just like oh just give me whatever you like and I can’t hold eye contact because I haven’t left the house in 3 weeks

#405 - De Onmisbare rol van Huisdieren
Huisdieren = Familie. Daar is geen twijfel over mogelijk. We maken grapjes, we lachen, we huilen, maar echt, niemand vertelt je dat je hart open gaat zodra je een huisdier binnenlaat. Het wordt onderdeel van jouw leven, van jouw gezin.
Ik hoorde laatst iemand zeggen: “Ze willen dat dieren echt als familie worden gezien.” En weet je wat? Dat is precies de waarheid. Als je weggaat, moet je oppas regelen. Als je ziek bent, kruipen ze bij je. Ze voelen dat, ze begrijpen dat.
En ja, dat betekent soms dat je afscheid neemt. Hard, pijnlijk, onvoorspelbaar. Maar dat maakt ze niet minder waardevol. Sterker nog, het laat zien hoeveel we geven. Hoe alles betekenis krijgt. Want op dagen dat alles tegenzit, is er die kat op je schoot, die hond die je simpelweg begrijpt zonder woorden. Die rust brengt, zelfs in chaos.

Kat discreetly helps you gather your things from the table when the bell finally rings. Keeping a protective arm around your shoulders she huries you inside the girls bathroom. A few of the girls immediately look at Kat, eyes wide as if she didn’t belong inside their because of her “boyish appearance”
Kat glares at them in annoyance, her voice and accent thick.
“Oi! Do you all have a staring problem or what? I’m a girl just like you! Now move it!"
They all scurry out , fumbling with their bags as they mumble to each other in annoyance. Kat immediately rushes to the door to lock it and then back to you in a swift. Her now soft brown eyes full and attentive.
"There we go, just us now. Can you look at me, baby? that’s it..take deep breaths.”
