Like how the Knight wants to descend deeper for their goal, but Hornet wants to reach the surface

and the thing where hornet is taller and so is her weapon compared to the Knight

I would really like to read the book, but I have schizoaffective and am worried it could potentially trigger my psychosis. Does anyone have advice on navigating this???

OOUUGHGJFHDHHH OKAY SO. theres this old guy zampano who died and left behind a BUNCH of notes talking about a documentary called The Navidson Record which is about a family who moves into a house which seems normal at first but it starts shifting and changing and eventually theres this big giant hallway which is a huge impossible maze and Will Navidson (guy who is making the navidson record) goes insane exploring it. Theres also. Johnny Truant who is the ome who found zampano’s notes and annotating and putting them together and making sense of them and he also has his own shit going on (he LOVES fucking bitches) and he eventually goes insane trying to figure out what the hell zampano was on about. (The navidson record and any accompanying media does not even exist. as far as Johnny knows, zampano made the entire thing up). Theres so so many layers and so many different stories in one book and I Swear To God I have never been THIS entertained by reading. The way it’s written is so fucking genius and theres so much weird formatting which is meant to mimic the feeling of the characters and it’s so fucking cool and it’s confusing and hard to read but in a fun way yk!??? ITS SO GOOD theres also like third wall breaking parts kinda and like. OUUGGGHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its so good, the book looks huge and thick but a lot of pages really only have a tiny bit of text. Its a great book if u like figuring shit out on ur own and putting pieces together bc it doesnt tell u very much. Reallyyy great book if u like liminal spaces too!!!!!!! I reccomend watching This House Has People In It (its on youtube…i think??) because it’s filmed in a surveillance camera sort of way, and having watched that prior to reading house of leaves helped me visualize the book better. You dont have to tho its not required thats just my suggestion 😄😄 omg Okay HOLY YAP sorry i just. Really Like This Book .

The only way to successfully adapt House of Leaves into video format would probably be something like a youtube analog horror series. While this messes with the mediums the original layers of narration are in, i don’t think there’s a flawless way anyone could do this LOL

Like any series it would need to be multiple videos, but that’s pretty much because of the appendixes–the option to flip around it so much. The videos themselves would be Zampano’s, imagining that he instead attempted to create a documentary of the documentary. But i think one of the big upsides to this is perhaps actual footage from the Navidson documentary would appear

Anyway the reason this can ONLY be a series on youtube is the description, and whatever else could incorporate Johnny’s narration. But i’m imagining the only logical way to include the editor’s notes and anything collected on Johnny (like the letters) would be for everything uploaded to be archived from a seperate account (Johnny, who violated adult content rules in community guidelines and got perma ultra banned). The descriptions and such would have added clarification from the person/people running it, and whatever else
