Went to Gunma

Went to Gunma with a friend who also likes Initial D and two of his friends who know basically nothing about Initial D. I like the boys and my friend likes the cars lol.

Was good! Drove down Haruna-san (Akina) while blasting Eurobeat

Me: And here’s where Takumi does that attack

Friend: And here’s the gutter, see it’s right there

Me: And here are the five hairpin turns so Takumi falls behind on the straight just before this but he catches up here and omg is this where

Friend: Yes, this is where Ryousuke’s tires loose traction.

Friend in the backseat, who knows nothing about Initial D but likes Eurobeat: This music is good!

Me: I think I’m the biggest Initial D fan (I ship RyoTaku, I live in Japan, I go to the events, I got to see Dave Rodgers, I buy a ton of merchandise)

Friend: Excuse me?! (He likes cars. He rented a fancy car for the drive to Gunma. He is thinking about buying a car that is like, some sort of newer version of Keisuke’s car)

Photos: Mount Haruna

Mount Haruna, Haruna Komachi, Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture.

Mount Haruna is a very small mountain near Ikaho Onsen in Gunma. As you can see, it resembles Mount Fuji. It is sometimes called, Haruna Fuji.

I caught the bus there after visiting Ikaho Onsen. it is very close by and I believe that buses are rather frequent because many people visiting Ikaho end up visiting haruna as well.

Please leave…

Kusatsu Onsen, Gunma – Japan’s Famous Hot Spring Town with the Iconic Yubatake

Tucked in the mountains of Gunma Prefecture, Kusatsu is one of Japan’s most renowned Onsen (Hot Spring) resorts, celebrated as part of the “Three Great Hot Springs of Japan” (Nihon Sanmeisen), alongside Gero and Arima.
Its mineral-rich waters, flowing at some of the nation’s highest volumes, have been prized for centuries for their healing properties.

At the heart of the town lies the Yubatake, or “hot water field,” a striking symbol of Kusatsu where steaming waters cascade over wooden channels, filling the air with sulfurous mist and lighting up beautifully at night.
Surrounding the Yubatake are ryokan inns, footbaths, and charming streets lined with shops offering local sweets and crafts.

Visitors can experience traditional bathing culture at public bathhouses, enjoy outdoor Onsen surrounded by nature, or witness the historic yumomi performance, where attendants stir the hot waters with wooden paddles to cool them for bathing.

With its combination of therapeutic waters, atmospheric townscape, and the iconic Yubatake, Kusatsu Onsen remains a timeless retreat and a true jewel among Japan’s hot spring destinations.

A shrine located on the prefectural border: “Kumano Kotai Shrine” and “Kumano Shrine”
県境に位置する神社 「熊野皇大神社」と「熊野神社

Kumano Kotai Shrine, a spiritual power spot located on the border of Karuizawa Town in Nagano Prefecture and Annaka City in Gunma Prefecture, is a unique shrine. It houses both “Kumano Kotai Shrine” and “Kumano Shrine” within the same precincts, with each side managed separately by Nagano Prefecture and Gunma Prefecture.
One of the shrine’s special features is that visitors can naturally cross the border between the two prefectures while within the grounds.

I would really appreciate it if you could take a look at my blog as well.
