🔥 This is crazy… one of our plumbing and septic clients has built enough domain authority to earn a “featured snippet” spot in Google! What’s crazy is this is a local service business… not a huge global brand! This proves that domain authority can also impact local search search results!!!

The Growing Strength of Local SEO

image

Assuming that you’ve been paying attention to the adjustments that Google constantly makes then you are quite possibly aware that local SEO is swiftly becoming more vital. If this is something new to you do not worry, our team’ll get you up to speed, but you’ll like to begin paying attention soon because local SEO is simply getting stronger and more important. Don’t be intimidated by it though, follow a few crucial tips and you’ll be on your way to a more powerful web presence in your local market.

Starting with a local SEO campaign.
If you’re intimidated by the notion of starting a local SEO project, don’t be. It’s actually a really simple procedure, however it will take you some time and effort.

Local citation correction. Your 1st task is to make sure your establishment is listed correctly and appropriately across the internet. Claim your local company profile on local web directory and review websites like Yelp and TripAdvisor, along with any other listings that are relevant for your company.

Ensure that your essential business details– especially your name, address and telephone number– are accurate and formatted consistently throughout every one of these platforms. If Google notices even a mini disparity between 2 different sources, your local authority might fall.

Local information and partnership development. When all your local information is in place and validated for correctness, you may commence the procedure of improving your material and external web links for local importance. For articles, this is relatively simple– just make certain to integrate the name of your city, region or community in your blog titles and make certain the material is relevant to your location.

Local events and local information posts are perfect opportunities for this. See to it to guest post on local outside blogs, and attempt to get published on local news channels with your newest press releases.

Local reviews and ongoing management. And finally, aim to encourage your consumers to write reviews about your company on Yelp and other review websites. You shouldn’t purchase these reviews, nor can you solicit them from your customers whatsoever, but you can let your buyers find out that you’re on these sites and indirectly encourage them to leave their reviews. Do anything you can to enhance the amount of good reviews you acquire, and always remember to log in so you are able to take a look at and answer these reviews routinely.

There you have it. Unless you already have a major, nationally established existence on primary search engines that newbies cannot touch, or you do not possess a single physical location, local S.E.O is going to be a necessity if you intend to reach search engine exposure over the course of the coming handful of years.

Take steps now to implement a consistent ongoing strategy, and keep devoted to seeing it through. Along with the effects of your efforts compounding, you’ll begin discovering results within weeks to months, and as further updates favor locally enhanced companies, you’ll simply stand to gain much more.

Hire a local professional SEO management company to do the work for you!

Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday comes once every year on the Saturday right after Thanksgiving. It’s that one time of the year when small business owners thumb their noses at the big corporate money machines like Walmat, Sam’s Club, Target and the like. It was designed to be a day that brought local consumer awareness to the home town’s of America.

ThePatch.com just posted an article entitled Getting Started on Facebook (and Other Tips to Help Your Business Grow) to all of their pages. At first I thought, what a shameless attempt to dominate Small Business Saturday’s Facebook, but you know as I thought about it, it made sense to me. It’s very hard for small business owners who are not tech savey to reach their Internet market. It’s not hard to do, but most small business owners don’t have the budget to afford doing it. Trust me. I talk to them every day.

From the looks of it, The Patch has decided that Facebook is the place to be if you’re a small business owner looking to cash in on your one big Internet day of the year. They’re pointing small business owners at Facebook for Business as the resource for advertising and learning how to do it. Wonder if this Facebook nod was paid for by Facebook?

The Patch doesn’t tell you how to set-up your Facebook either. Instead they link out to MarketingSherpa and it’s a nice how-to page, but really it would have been appropriate to have written a Patch specific article on how their advertising service uses Facebook to the best advantage of small business owners.

I’m not to keen on their banner ad. It say you can get a “Free Personalized Marketing Campaign" and I find that a tad misleading because it is not a free campaign. It just means they’ll help you set-up a campaign and not charge for the assistance. Most advertising agencies will that these days.

So, will advertising through the Patch and Facebook really bring you those Local eyeballs? Not to sure, but what it will do is give your business details to American Express. Just click on the banner ad and you’ll find yourself on American Express’s website. Say what?!

So, it’s sponsored by American Express and not Facebook.

That’s less about caring about you small business owners and more about getting your information into american Express’s hands.

This is the reply that I always get:
