lyric analysis – ‘paris’ by the 1975

a play on words, he alludes to her drug addiction which can read as an argument —he gently pokes at her habit, she calls him on his masculinity, and again he pokes at her dependency but crueler.
And so she wrote a plan for it on the back of a f*g packet She had to leave because she couldn’t hack it Not a lot of noise and too much racket I think “I’ve spent all my money and your friends, oh”
she half-heartedly wants to stop but replaces her addiction with another one alluding that she’s never serious about anything. he thinks to himself, not a lot of substance, but a lot of drama ; he’s given her and her life everything he has yet she has fallen short every time.

mentioning the city of love, the phrase alludes to how he wants so badly to feel any kind of positive feeling for her and when he’s around her. certainly love, interest? anything, really.
Mister Serotonin Man, lend me a gram You call yourself a friend? “I’ve got two left feet and I’m starting to cheat on my girlfriend again” I caught a pinky in her nose As the crowd cheered for an overdose And “I don’t suppose you know where this train goes?”
the serotonin man refers to ssris aka antidepressants, him asking, almost begging it to make him feel happy, joyful, etc. and when it doesn’t, he’s suddenly not a 'friend’ to it anymore. two left feet, meaning he’s lost all sense of right and wrong and has no intention on trying to fix it. the last line mentions how his girlfriend is a passive individual – she waits for other people to fix her problems, tell her where to go, and what to do with herself.
There was a party that she had to miss Because her friend kept cutting her wrists Hyperpoliticized sexual trysts “Oh, I think my boyfriend’s a nihilist” As I said, “hey kids we’re all just the same, what a shame”
she prioritizes other things and people over herself, which causes relationships (like the one sung here) to break and become strained. she tries to mend their relationship with sex and more intimate actions that ironically feels hallow and for show. although in public she likes the idea of him, she truly does not know him at all – she states how he doesn’t believe in anything and has no essence or personality while at the same time he’s preaching about the reality of humans sharing some kind of connection.

how he’d love to feel something for her again, the repeated phrase of ‘and again’ alludes to him thinking non-stop about it — every time he sees her he wishes that he could feel something beside that distant feeling for her.
“Oh stop being an asshole And counting my eye rolls” And like piss holes in the snow, uh oh Keeping paying the tab on my health Man, you’re putting me up on a shelf “Well I’ll believe you’re clean, but only by seeing your face for myself”
it’s a common word in the relationship; stop doing this, stop doing that. the example of her being too involved and caring is annoying and off-putting to him, the back and forth of being praised and then belittled.
And then she pointed at the bag of her dreams In a well-posh magazine “I said I’m done, babe I’m out of the scene” But I was picking up on Bethnal Green She said I’d been romanticizing heroin
oh the lies. the expectations. the pressure. she constantly wants the glamour and allure of this 'high-end’ life: designer bags, wealth, and status. he lashes out at the situation -a double meaning of being done with drugs and their relationship if you want to see it that way- and copes with his 'casual’ interaction with drugs.

Bloodlust - king of Hell (now). Son of Bloodbath. Arrogant, has no friendly connections (or don’t think so). He taught his daughter (Blood splitter/Angelic blood) his way of hunting(xenomorph). Hides his hatred for Yatagarasu, because it could affect his reputation as king of hell. Love blood of untouched person (kids or something). One of 5 Olympic demons(demons which was top 1 more than a year)
Acheron - king of Void (previously Abyss). Tartarus’ son. Born from the waters of the Acheron River, he was named after it. As abyss’ creature was weak but was raised in Olympic demons society so he became strong creature in his teenage years. Cold and closed person. One of 5 Olympic demons.

All these years avoiding all warm tone reds in my face because I didn’t think they fit me and now my favorite lip tint is bright orange.
