Isolation is a design choice.

Architecture is the luxury of space.

Field Note: Redefining the “Bohemian” (Salaş) Experience. 🌿

✦ Field Notes from the Illusion ✦

Entry No. 003 – 2:30 A.M.

Location: A dream stitched from borrowed light and memory static

2:30 A.M.

I slipped into sleep sideways—

not falling,

just… folding.

A velvet hallway curled open in the sky

lined with doors made of fog and voices I forgot.

2:37 A.M.

A crow handed me a clock made of moss.

It told me not the time,

but the weight of time.

I thanked him in backwards Latin,

and he bowed like a priest.

2:45 A.M.

My childhood bedroom was underwater.

Fish swam through the light socket.

I breathed nostalgia through my knees.

Someone whispered,

“You are both the sleeper and the dream.”

2:57 A.M.

Met a version of myself

with antlers and no name.

She danced on a tightrope made of echoes.

Said: “None of this is happening,

but all of it is true.”

3:03 A.M.

I tasted the color of silence.

(It was bitter and holy).

The moon grew roots

and offered me tea steeped in déjà vu.

3:16 A.M.

Woke up gasping.

Still floating.

Checked my hand—

there was a feather in it.

Still warm.

Still humming.

From Field Notes In Illusions by Nicole Dyer-Shamanfox

Field Notes from the Illusion 080

1:58 am – 2:29 am

1:58 am – When they scroll, the world outside that screen dies. You could be bleeding out on the carpet and they’d just tilt the phone a little so the glare doesn’t hit their eyes.

2:03 am – When they get obsessed, the air between you stops being oxygen and turns into Wi-Fi signal. They breathe in pixels. They exhale detachment.

2:07 am – The scrolling trance is holy to them. You are the background hum in the temple of their attention span. Don’t interrupt. You’re not competing with another person—you’re competing with an endless buffet of dopamine hits and fake intimacy.

2:12 am – You become scenery. A piece of furniture. Maybe the cat scratches you on the way by, maybe not. The feed is the only animal they pet.

2:17 am – When they scroll, time folds in on itself. You watch hours pass like minutes. You watch yourself vanish frame by frame, until you’re just a ghost in someone else’s peripheral vision.

2:23 am – The worst part isn’t the neglect—it’s knowing you could start scrolling too, and the whole world could collapse into two people side by side, both worshiping the same glowing altar. And no one would call it a funeral.

2:29 am – Inhale. Exhale. The glow never dims. They never look up. The illusion wins

*.It’s the same mechanism slot machines use:

Unpredictable reward = more addictive than predictable reward.

Short feedback loop = constant micro-hits keep the brain hooked.

Withdrawal = irritability, restlessness, or flat mood when the stimulation stops.

ARCHIVE NOTE — FRUIT VARIANTS

Early field materials indicate the presence of multiple fruit-associated capybara specimens documented across unrelated regions and time periods.

Due to the inconsistent quality of early photographs, many observations rely on silhouette sketches and written notes rather than surface detail. Several records reference scent, coloration, or texture without visual confirmation.

Classification remains provisional.

Further documentation pending.

A graphite pencil sketch on off-white archival paper lies on a wooden desk. The drawing shows a simple side-profile silhouette of a juvenile capybara with slightly rounded features. The sketch is minimal and unshaded, resembling a scientific field study outline. Soft desk lighting creates gentle shadows around the page.ALT

FIELD SKETCH — STRAWBERRY VARIANT (JUVENILE)

Graphite on archival paper. Undated.

Preliminary silhouette drawn from direct observation of a juvenile specimen.

Proportions approximate. Pigmentation patterns noted along the upper body; no leaf formation observed at this developmental stage.

Sketch recovered with early classification materials and stored with Fruit Variant reference files.

A worn Polaroid labeled “Blueberry Capybara” sits on a wooden desk. The photo shows a small, rounded capybara with matte dark-blue fur, facing to the viewer’s right. The edges of the Polaroid are creased and slightly dirty, giving it an aged, archival appearance.ALT

ENTRY — 003

Specimen: Capybara vaccinia (Blueberry Variant)

Recovered photograph found unlabeled in a field desk drawer.

Noted for its round shape, matte blue-purple coat, and unusually quiet behavior.
