It was truly strange that it took so long for Blizzard to add the Paladin to Diablo IV, knowing that it was one of the most popular classes. the Paladin is one of the classes whose identity is bound very tightly to the franchise, even the class wasn’t in the first game, because the religion that the Paladin belongs to (Zakarum, a kind of vague aesthetic hybrid religion between Christianity and Islam) is CENTRAL to the plot of the first and second games, and features prominently to one degree or another in the third and fourth games.
leaving the Paladin out of the game for so long (without even replacing him with the Crusader as they did in Diablo III) feels just as strange as if they had left out the Barbarian (guardians of the Arreat Summit) or Sorceress (descendants of the infamous Mage Clans), both of which likewise have DEEP ties to Diablo lore.
Look, I get it. they wanted to experiment with new classes. but it just felt like they were missing something HUGELY important to the game’s identity during that time.

Doom did a crossover with Diablo 4 and the one thing about it that interested me was how some of the new items looked new because they’re probably based on unused concepts.
I said something about how neat it’d be if the Doom stuff in other games was in a Doom game like those Quake Champions cosmetics.
