“Are you pondering what I’m pondering Destro? “

“Well, I think so, Commander, but I can’t memorize a whole opera in Yiddish.”

Destro

In order to get Destro’s head to look right, I wound up just take the head from a normal LEGO nanofig and gluing it to a Brick Mini body. So this figure is actually part LEGO and part Brick Mini.

G.I. Joe Multiversity

A Real American Hero! Code Name: Destro - Primary Specialty: Enemy Weapons Supplier - Destro is the faceless power behind MARS (Military Armaments Research System), largest manufacturer of state-of-the-art weaponry. To Destro, war is man’s most natural state: the fittest survive and the greatest technological advances are made. He maintains a luxurious lifestyle around the world. Destro provides high-tech arms to any side able to meet his price and will incite war where it does not exist. He dons his silver battle mask (a family tradition) and enters battle himself, either with COBRA Command (Destro is their major weapons supplier) or against them if it’s better for business.

Has anyone ever cosplayed Chameleon from the Energon comics? I think her design is great and seems like it would be perfect for cosplayers to try. I tried looking for cosplays of her online but couldn’t find any. Are there any cosplays of her?

I’ve been reading through my backlog of GI Joe ARAH comics and I recalled something from Energon Universe GI Joe-

Remember this bit? “[Destro] acted as you predicted. He did indeed launch nuclear armaments to impress a woman.”

He ain’t even dating Lady Jaye and I don’t think he ever has. (Love the guy glaring behind them, lol.) Not to mention his actions in the modern comics when Baroness gets shot and he goes in to take care of business with Serpentor Khan himself.

This man can get extremely extra when it comes to women.

I had heard about this faction within late 80s GI Joe toys, and I assume that this faction would’ve had to have been featured prominently in a third or fourth season of the GI Joe tv show. Because Destro leaving Cobra, getting a gold plated mask and establishing his own independent criminal operation…that is clever.

I feel like the Iron Grenadiers would have to up the rating of the show, though. If I can’t retroactively imagine an episode of the show where Destro is heavily implied to be helping Ronald Reagan and the US establishment fund war crimes in South America, then what’s the point? It’s basically already implied here that that’s what’s going on. Destro is helping the US fund coups in unaligned nations, all so he can reap the profits of his munitions sales.

Destro isn’t a fascist, though. He isn’t even an imperialist in the traditional sense. Do I really think he cares about spreading western hegemony? No! This is all about profit for him, and maybe about giving him a chance to do more work and experiments. I did sort of get the vibes of a brilliant technical mind from his tv show appearances.
