!!!!TECH NERDS INTERACT WITH THIS PLEASE!!!!
so i have this old laptop (a Dell Inspiron 3521), and i want to upgrade its ram (which is a thing i can do! yay)
the thing is, i keep seeing two conflicting ways i could go about it
- Dell’s official site says the maximum capacity is 8gb of DDR3/DDR3L. And, it being a Dell product, I am somewhat inclined to believe them.
2. I have seen multiple sites say that i can update to 16gb DDR3/DDR3L, which I want to do.
The laptop has 2 slots, only takes DDR3/DDR3L, and (especially in this economic climate *coughcoughbecauseofAItechbroslop*) I’d rather not waste my money on buying two sticks of 8gb DDR3/DDR3L, when i can save my money, and just buy one 4gb DDR3/DDR3L (as I already have 6gb total on that thing, yes I know it is like, basically nothing. It’s my project laptop, I wanna breathe life back into her. When I found her, she was on Windows 8. Fucking 8. I tried puppylinux for a while, because I could burn it on a CD. It’s cool. Check out Puppy :D)
