hold on to what we all remember fighting for
At just 20 years old, Alysa Liu didn’t just skate beautifully — she staged a comeback for the history books. The first American woman in 24 years to stand atop the Olympic podium. Gold around her neck. Tears in her eyes. Her father, Arthur Liu, celebrating wildly in the stands.
Twenty-four years is a long drought.But droughts don’t cancel destiny.That’s what stirred my heart. A comeback doesn’t…

The big question! I’ve been largely saving this for when I finally hunker down and make that video I promised years ago (Can’t rn; someone please fix my laptop).
On the surface, this is kinda bad faith, right? Like, no way, Arise isn’t pro-slavery, the first half of the game is explicitly about freeing slaves. Well, sorta, but the second half of the game is not about freeing slaves and is the actual meat and potatoes of the story. Slavery was never really important outside of being a plot device, this is true of the enslaved as well.
Let’s take a look at dialogue from the start of the second half:

There it is! Arise is a very neoliberal text and it positions slavery as individual routinely throughout the second half of the game. The first 35 hours of the game are recontextualised to be about the evil, individualistic planet (literal) sucking the life out of another planet. They don’t just stop at the planet sucking, they do this to slavery as well. Kisara - a former slave whose entire personality is being Dohalim’s slave or talking about her dead brother - just outright says so. It’s not about collective action - that of Rena enslaving Danans and destroying societies, cultures, and even entire ethnic (? Not clear, game is badly written) groups - but individual action. Slavery is wrong because of bad slave owners. By the time the game goes to Lenegis for exposition and nonsense, Dohalim is transformed from a bad slave owner to a good slave owner. He stops being so weak and starts to lead the slave owning society by being #Epic. Very based #ancaprealness
There are many more examples, but I want to save those for when I’m ready to be more annoying than this. Let’s skip right to the end of the game w/ some of the final lines said by Alphen:

Rena, the planet (literal) that enslaved an entire planet to extract that planet of all its resources and life, never had any evil intent. The creators of slavery never had evil intent. We need to save the slave owners. This comes after the Lenegis visit where the game goes “Slave owners are just as oppressed as slaves, actually.” This nasty shit parrots the White Man’s Burden. Slavery is natural. It is natural for the Superior to enslave the Inferior and that is good, not a grave evil committed by man for resource, labour, and wealth extraction.
This is the short of why Arise is pro-slavery.
Just discovered the existence of “Arise: Level Up In Real Life” (the mobile app based on Solo Leveling, that helps you with training) I’m tempted to give it a try… 👀
Since God was talking about and showing us the LIGHT 💡 I wanted to share this passage with you for deeper understanding and clarity about who Jesus Christ is.

No no no. You becoming a record player is a sign. You are now the designated songwriter of the haunted hotel fandom. (Also that’s such a cool dream I wish I had dreams)
“Arise from the dead … .”
EPHESIANS 5:14
Not all initiative, the willingness to take the first step, is inspired by God. Someone may say to you, “Get up and get going! Take your reluctance by the throat and throw it overboard—just do what needs to be done!” That is what we mean by ordinary human initiative. But when the Spirit of God comes to us and says, in effect, “Get up and get going,” suddenly we find that the initiative is inspired.
“We all have many dreams and aspirations when we are young, but sooner or later we realize we have no power to accomplish them. We cannot do the things we long to do, so our tendency is to think of our dreams and aspirations as dead. But God comes and says to us, “Arise from the dead … .” When God sends His inspiration, it comes to us with such miraculous power that we are able to “arise from the dead” and do the impossible. The remarkable thing about spiritual initiative is that the life and power comes after we “get up and get going.” God does not give us overcoming life—He gives us life as we overcome.”
“When the inspiration of God comes, and He says, “Arise from the dead … ,” we have to get ourselves up; God will not lift us up. Our Lord said to the man with the withered hand, “Stretch out your hand” (Matthew 12:13). As soon as the man did so, his hand was healed. But he had to take the initiative. If we will take the initiative to overcome, we will find that we have the inspiration of God, because He immediately gives us the power of life.”
Excerpt From: Oswald Chambers. “My Utmost for His Highest, Updated Edition.”
Ego, bu ham dürtüyle dünyanın duvarları arasına sıkışmış tercümandır. id’ in çığlığını toplumun diliyle fısıltıya çevirir.
