I’m experimenting with making ACEOs/ATCs using test strips from my dyeing. I also attempted to drip over these and leave them in puddles of dye
dyeing crochet cotton and also some mohair/silk blend using fiber reactive dyes. the mohair will get overdyed with acid dyes tomorrow for a crocheted piece. the crochet cotton is for a new warp.

ACEOs (Artists Cards, Editions and Originals) I’m working on right now seems to want to be monster-related and it seems fitting with the times we’re in. It’s the time of the monsters, someone said, I forget who.

This movie probably kickstarted my obsession with horror movie head explosions, chopping mall is a stupid movie I love but will never rewatch. It feels so authentically 80s, “oh my god, a bunch of horny teens sneak into a shopping mall and oh no! The robots inside the mall are now evil and glow red and shoot lasers!” The whole budget probably went into the same robot that they use in every scene but so fun to watch because of this

ACEOs are having a real moment on tiktok right now and as a miniature enthusiast, i’m obsessed with everyone’s tiny business card sized art works. but it also hurts to see them selling pieces that clearly took hours (plural!) to complete for less than $10. and the stricter ACEOers out there insist they can’t be reproduced as prints lest they lose that “one of a kind” value. except they’re not selling at “one of a kind” valued prices. anyway, it’s a rly cute concept as long as you don’t expect to make money off of it.
