It’s the third week of the month! Time for a #PhotoPrompt
Aishwarya, aka, Kitty from Kitty’s Verses, was my selection from last month’s challenge. She has provided the photo for this month’s challenge. Remember, don’t just describe what is in the photo. Engage your senses and work with implied metaphors to make your poetry sing!
Sorry for the chaos last week! I’m slowing updating all the pages that did NOT come over from the business plan. The Poetry Challenge Cheat Sheet link and the Tanka Tuesday Poetry Book Store links are on the main menu above. You should be able to access them. Please let me know if something is not working, so I can let WP know to fix it.
Whew! What a busy week it’s been. I’ve struggled to find time to work on my new poetry book amid a series of events which interfered in my time, every day. Between a four-hour power outage in my neighborhood, and the daily mess and noise from a new-build next door, I’m struggling for time to work on my book. Add a day of grocery shopping to prepare for the Coronavirus scare sweeping the world,…
It’s the first of the month and you know what that means! Poets, choose your own syllabic poetry form, theme, words, images, etc. It’s up to you!
Are you looking for inspiration for your syllabic poetry? Find an image on Pixabay.com or experiment with “found poetry” as a way to find some inspiration. Another option is to try some magnetic poetry. You still have to…
It’s the fourth week of the month! Ken Gierke selected this month’s theme prompt. On the Monday before the next challenge, I’ll select someone to choose next month’s theme. Have fun!
Don’t forget to send me poetry examples for my poetry book. I’ll need: Tanka, Gogyohka, Haibun, Cinquain (all forms), Etheree, Nonet, and Shadorma. I’ve finished the…
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16 KJV
I like this verse.
It is one of The SunShining ministry verses.
Let your light so shine. It’s a good thing to do.
But I am going to ask you a question I have been asking myself recently, “Who does that?”, I think I will be making a podcast episode about that soon, so stay tuned.

Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.
Matthew 2:16 KJV
I don’t like the actions Herod did in this verse.
I don’t think anyone does.
But I love the symbolism in the verse.
What Herod did was kind of what Pharaoh did in Egypt.
And I think the same thing is happening today(abortion), doesn’t that make you think.
