OH. MY. GOD! I can’t even describe how fun “Back To The Future” in 4DX was! Like it totally elevates the movie for you way more than you think. Of course there’s those quiet moments where there’s no vibration or movement when Marty is just talking with the other characters, but the action scenes with the DeLorean and the skateboard are next level and feel like you’re moving. Like you feel like you’re actually with Marty and experiencing everything he’s experiencing. Or what George or Loraine are experiencing. It’s literally like you’re along for the ride.
You feel like you’re moving with all the cars when the characters are inside them, the movement of Marty with the electric guitar. You even feel water being squinted at you when the DeLorean comes back from the ice, when Doc puts out the fire, and when Marty spits in the car. You feel the wind when they’re outside at night, the squirt of the fog at your calves. It’s amazing!
Like even during the punches or when they are shoving around Lorraine, George, and Marty, you feel that! Even when Marty falls. There are so many things. I wasn’t expecting that much but it gave me more than I could’ve asked for. I especially loved when they added this wind, vibration and sweeping motion during the big moment when Marty suddenly gets his strength back after George & Loraine kiss on the dance floor and everything is right with the world. It really elevated the moment and hit me right in the feels more than it normally would.
The lights flashed and there were major vibrations during the shooting scenes, but the DeLorean scenes were the best and the part where Doc is hanging from the clock tower really was vibrating every little movement of his down to the wire tugging and bell.
Oh my God, what a ride! Literally. I wouldn’t recommend it for those with back or neck problems though because it really throws you around like whiplash. But for everyone else, that’s the fun of it and I was smiling and giggling the whole time. It was wild! I just wish there had been more wind. It wasn’t much more than a fan kind of wind blowing through the theater or AC. Some smells would be good too. God I wish I could go over and over again! It will never be the same watching it again without that experience. 😭😭 It also made me cry a little bit when I thought about how much my dad would’ve loved to experience it that way. He was a big BTTF fan. I just hope he was with me there in spirit enjoying it.
