Organic: protein - collagen - type 1; articular surfaces has hyaline cart (type 2 collagen)
Cells(~10%): Ostblast(rich in ALP), clast(Mcyte, multinu, rich in TRAP and CAse), cyte(m/c)
Ostblast lay down osteoid, mineralises, forms osteon
Markers of activity:
Synthetic: ALP, procoll1, ostcalcin, ostnectin
Lytic: collagen breakdown products (OHproline, OHlysine, TRAP)
