Hello, my name is Anna! I am a lifelong artist, avid nature enthusiast, and lover of the unusual—all facets of my being that will influence what I share on this blog. I started making analog collages as a freshman in high school (about 8 years ago now😳) and find that it is a great way to express my creativity when I feel too burnt out to draw/paint/etc. This is one of my favorites I have made, partially because I have always loved faeries and was reminded of a daunting court of magical beings tasked with deciding your fate (more than likely being whisked away to the Faery Realm) when making this piece.

yes i do actually believe ancient peoples actually saw mythical creatures in their true forms in the material world when they wrote or said or told they did, bc i think it’s bullshit that modern peoples imaginate that every ancient persons ever were all “stupid and didn’t actually know what actually seeing” like. bruh. they Literally invented math and science and astronomy From Scratch??
I think if I had the night sky they had- id be able to see far too clearly in the woods here; all of those things that go bump in the night are hidden comfortably in the dark, near starless sky
As an Indigenous person raised around these ancient ideas, not only did our ancestors believe in these as real beings, some of our cultures still do! We still talk about the jogah and the other beings coming from a different world to this one, and how we share this realm with humans, we come out at night, the Native tribes out during the day.
My Indigenous human parents will tell you personally that I am not a human. We fully acknowledge this in my family. My brothers know I am their elf brother. That’s just the way life is for us.
Don’t let genocidal colonizers pull the wool over your eyes, they have unicorns and dragons on their royal coat of arms. Iceland has a dragon and giant on their coat of arms. More than 60% of Iceland still believes elves and giants are real beings that exist alongside humans. They even stop construction so they won’t disturb the landvættir.
