No name strikes terror into the hearts of Gotham’s citizens quite like the Joker. In a city overrun with larger-than-life criminals, the always-laughing villain stands alone. A complete psychopath with no moral compass whatsoever the Joker, whose real name and identity remain completely unknown, is characterized by his chalk-white skin, green hair and a permanent rictus grin stretched across his face. In 1080p with the original 1.37:1 aspect ratio, these animated shorts have never looked better, this is hands-down the sharpest and most vibrant presentation I’ve seen of them. Even if you already own some of these on DVD, the jump in color accuracy, detail, and overall clarity makes this Blu-ray upgrade well worth it in my opinion. There are a few scattered shots that aren’t quite as razor-sharp as the rest, but overall the video quality is excellent and consistently impressive. As always, Warner Bros. walks a tricky line when restoring these vintage cartoons: some digital cleanup is essential to bring them into high definition, yet they have to be careful not to strip away too much of the original film grain. A lot of fans get upset if the grain disappears entirely, but personally, I prioritize crisp detail and those rich, popping colors over preserving every last speck of grain. Warner Bros. has struck a great balance here and delivered another top-notch restoration job. Highly recommended for any Looney Tunes collector!
AUDIO QUALITY 🔈 : B+
The audio presentation is a clean, faithful DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 mono track that does exactly what it needs to for these classic shorts. Music, sound effects, and dialogue all come through crisp and well-balanced, sitting perfectly alongside the upgraded visuals without any muddiness or harshness. It’s a straightforward but very effective mix that lets the original charm of the Looney Tunes sound design shine through in high definition. Solid work from Warner Archive—nothing flashy, just reliably great for the era.
EXTRAS 📀 : D-
The only real drawback to this collection is the lack of extras. No digital download, no booklets and the only disc extras are commentaries on five shorts.
OVERALL GRADE: B+
What blows me away is how these cartoons remain completely timeless and just as hilarious for kids of every age, even those of us who are “adults” in name only. The replay value on these discs is off the charts for me. I still pop one in the Blu-ray player most mornings, brew some coffee, and happily relive my childhood all over again. Pure joy every single time. I can’t recommend Looney Tunes Collector’s Vault: Volume 2 highly enough. If I had one wish for future releases, it would be to started including digital download codes with these kinds of sets, having them on the go would be the cherry on top. Still, this collection is a must-have for any fan.

George Caltsoudas is back with a BAM, POW, and a ZLOPP with his newest print for Batman ‘66!
Batman ‘66 has the double-honor of being the first live Batman series, while also being the most groovy rendition of the Caped Crusader. George’s print pays homage to the show and its vivid cast of characters, and features one of the most clever integrations of onomatopoeia we’ve seen in a poster. We’ve created a few fun editions of the print, including a mesmerizing Silver Foil edition that we think our Bat-fans will appreciate.
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns - 1/6th scale Batman
(Battle Damaged Version) Collectible Figure
This year marks the 40th anniversary of Frank Miller’s comic series Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. In this classic story, an aging 55-year-old Bruce Wayne emerges from a decade of retirement to reclaim the mantle of the Dark Knight in a decaying, crime-ravaged Gotham. No longer the sleek vigilante of his youth, this brutish Batman fights with raw ferocity against street gangs, Joker, and even a government-controlled Superman, embodying an uncompromising vision of justice in a world gone mad.
The gray battle-worn Batsuit is finely tailored in elastic fabric material, complete with realistic tears and blood paint applications. A wired and weathered blue cape flows behind him, while the utility belt, forearm gauntlets, and boots all feature blood paint applications. The figure also comes with a cowl in a mask-off state that can be attached to the body with the Bruce Wayne head sculpt, allowing for the replication of the look with the cowl removed for an alternative display style. Armed for war, Batman comes equipped with four Batarangs, a rope-attached Batarang, and a rifle. The figure is completed with a specially designed display stand.
Scarred but unstoppable, this Battle-Damaged Batman figure stands as a powerful tribute to one of the most influential depictions of the Dark Knight.
According to recent reports, including from Variety, Matt Reeves’ sequel to The Batman, titled The Batman Part II, is preparing to start principal photography this spring, with a more specific target of late May for cameras to roll.
Robert Pattinson is set to return as Bruce Wayne and his vigilante alter ego, Batman.
Casting rumors suggest Sebastian Stan will take on the role of Harvey Dent (the district attorney who becomes the villain Two-Face in many Batman stories), while Scarlett Johansson is reportedly in talks or attached to play Dent’s wife, Gilda (though this remains unconfirmed officially by the studio).
The film is currently scheduled for theatrical release on October 1, 2027, following multiple previous delays that have shifted it from earlier dates like 2025 and 2026. This Elseworlds DC project continues to build anticipation after the success of the 2022 original and the The Penguin spinoff series.
Nearly two decades after its original TV premiere, Hanna-Barbera revived The Flintstones in 1979 with The New Fred and Barney Show. This collection includes all 17 episodes of the series, which looked to recapture the charm, humor, and timeless appeal that made the classic original a beloved favorite for generations.
Being a huge fan of the original show The Flintstones (1960–1966), I was always intrigued with the newer animated shows that came out such as The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show (1971–1976) and this series, The New Fred and Barney Show (1979). This is the first time I’ve watched any of these 17 episodes since it originally aired over 45 years ago. Although this series did bring back the fun-loving stone aged family and their equally lovable neighbors, the episodes aren’t quite as funny and maybe most importantly (for me at least) Henry Corden’s voice just isn’t the same as Alan Reed’s original Fred Flintstone.
The video quality here is interesting; although most of the animated cells look crisp, while managing to keep some of the natural film grain, there are noticeable blurry shots that almost make it look like you’re looking through an out of focus camera.
One of the blurry shots (left) next to what most of the animation looks like (right).
VIDEO QUALITY 📽️ : C+
Even with a bit of blurriness popping up here and there, this 1080p presentation is hands-down the best these episodes have ever looked—sharper, more vibrant, and more detailed than anything I’ve seen before. Video Codec: MPEG-4 AVC Resolution: 1080p Aspect ratio: 1.33:1 Original aspect ratio: 1.33:1
AUDIO QUALITY 🔈 : B+
Dolby Digital works really well here for a straightforward 2.0 mono mix. The music, sound effects, and dialogue all come through clearly and feel nicely balanced with the visuals.
There are zero extras here. No digital copy, and no featurettes.
OVERALL GRADE: C
These episodes aren’t nearly as enjoyable as the original series, but the animation smartly plays to the strengths of the endearing characters, iconic sound effects, catchy music, and laugh track to hold your attention. As a big Flintstones collector, I’d say this blu-ray set is a must-have for completists, though anyone expecting the peak charm and comedy of the classic run could end up underwhelmed.
Warner Bros. has pushed the release date of ‘CLAYFACE’ to October 23, 2026. The solo film of the Batman villain was originally slated for a September 11th release.
The Woody Woodpecker & Friends Golden Age Collection
Woody Woodpecker, the zany, red-headed troublemaker we all love, is back and better than ever in The Woody Woodpecker and Friends Golden Age Collection! Dive into hours of non-stop hilarity alongside Woody and his hilarious crew, including favorites like Chilly Willy, in 25 timeless theatrical cartoons from the legendary Walter Lantz. This must-have Blu-ray set captures some of the most outrageous and inventive animation antics ever put to screen, packed with extras like rare archival behind-the-scenes footage of Walter Lantz himself and plenty more surprises to delight fans old and new!
Many will recognize Woody just by his intoxicating laugh and his world-famous catch phrase, “Guess who?” Some refer to this multicolored bird as the animated world’s most hilarious instigator; for me, his actions always brought a smile to my face. His high pitched voice and crazy antics kept me laughing throughout my childhood. Rewatching these cartoons for the first time in years, I find myself laughing again as though I were only a kid.
As aforementioned here, there is 25 classic shorts:
Woodpecker in the Rough (1952, Walter Lantz)
Get Lost! Little Doggy (1964, Sid Marcus)
Greedy Gabby Gator (1963, Marcus)

The Flying Turtle (1953, Smith)
The Mouse and the Lion (1953, Smith)
Flea for Two (1955, Don Patterson)
*Episode title (year and director)
Sadly, like most of the Warner Bros. animated releases of Looney Tunes, there is no focus of a time period. The cartoons cover a wide range in years; 1940-1966 and animation styles certainly changed over a 26 year period. Even more disheartening is that less than half on the shorts actually feature Woody Woodpecker.
The special features on The Woody Woodpecker and Friends Golden Age Collection Blu-ray deliver a strong selection of archival and educational content, spotlighting Walter Lantz’s animation techniques and the legacy of his classic cartoons. These include vintage behind-the-scenes segments such as Drawing Woody and Andy, Directing Animated Cartoons, Timing a Cartoon, Character Movement, The Animator’s Job, Using Backgrounds, Drawing with Walter Lantz, and Storyboarding Woody Woodpecker, offering fascinating insights into the production process from one of animation’s pioneering studios.
Here’s the full list based on official press releases, retailer details, and reviews:
Cartoonland Mysteries
Spook-a-Nanny
Drawing Woody and Andy
Directing Animated Cartoons
Timing a Cartoon
Character Movement
The Animator’s Job
Using Backgrounds
Drawing with Walter Lantz
Storyboarding Woody Woodpecker
These are mostly vintage instructional/educational shorts or segments featuring Walter Lantz himself, demonstrating animation techniques like drawing characters, storyboarding, timing, movement, directing, backgrounds, and more. Some appear to be rare archival footage or behind-the-scenes pieces, tying into the promotional mentions of “archival behind-the-scenes footage of Walter Lantz” and other “rare treasures.”

Presented with 1080p resolution, this is definitely the best I’ve ever seen these animated shorts. Sometimes the color on certain episodes seems off a little, but even if you have a handful of these on DVD, the upgrade in clarity is worth the price IMO. Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has done a fine job with these old cartoons, hopefully more will follow.

There is a lot of extras included on this single disc, which are certainly interesting, however the lack of digital copies of these shorts is most unfortunate. I really wish digital copies were the norm again with blu-ray releases.

It’s incredible how these classic cartoons stay timeless and endlessly entertaining for kids of every age… even those of us who are ‘adults’. The replay value on this disc will be off the charts for me, as I plan on reliving carefree childhood vibes. This set is a real gift for fans, letting us revisit these beloved shorts over and over again with the same joy as the first time, while exposing the fun to a whole new generation.
Christina Hodson Pens Batman: The Brave and the Bold Movie
Christina Hodson, who wrote both of the DC box office bombs, Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn and The Flash, has been enlisted to write Batman:The Brave and the Bold. The film is said to be centered around Batman and Robin. This time round, Robin will be Damian Wayne, the son of Batman, who first appeared in comic books back in 1987.
The movie will reunite Hodson with director Andy Muschietti; both assumed the same positions in The Flash movie back in 2023.
Stan To Portray Harvey Dent In ‘THE BATMAN Part II”
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Sebastian Stan will indeed portray Harvey Dent in THE BATMAN PART II. Of course, in the world of the Dark Knight, Dent becomes the villainous Two-Face one of Batman’s most dangerous adversaries.
Live-action wise Harvey Dent/Two-Face has been portrayed by both, Tommy Lee Jones (BATMAN FOREVER) and Aaron Eckhart (THE DARK KNIGHT).
After numerous delays, “The Batman Part II” directed by Matt Reeves, is expected to begin shooting this spring with an October 2027 theatrical release.

Amidst the turmoil, he builds a fragile trust with a few members of the GCPD and the citizens of Gotham City.
Hot Toys is proud to present the highly anticipated 1/6th scale Batman™ Collectible Figure from the video game Batman: Arkham Origins. This figure features a newly developed masked head with separate rolling eyeballs and two interchangeable lower face sculpts that showcase both his brooding look and determined, clenched-teeth expression. A pair of Heavy Gauntlets, boots, a utility belt, and a wire-embedded cape complete his outfit. The figure also includes a pair of Shock Gloves armor plates that feature translucent blue lightning effects to showcase their electrified impact. Coming with seven interchangeable hands, including fists, open gesture hands, and weapon-holding hands, collectors are able to display him with dynamic poses.
This figure comes with an arsenal of weapons that faithfully reflects the tools Batman utilizes throughout the game. Included are a Grapnel Gun, Disruptor, Sonic Batarang, Batarang, Remote Claw, Smoke Pellet, and Explosive Gel. The presentation is completed with a specially designed figure stand.
This long-awaited collectible figure brings the origin of the Dark Knight to life — an essential addition for fans of Batman: Arkham Origins and anyone who appreciates finely crafted video game figures.
Various rumors out there are speculating Sebastian Stan will portray Harvey Dent, a.k.a. Two-Face, in the upcoming movie, THE BATMAN PART II. What do you think?
Stan 2nd Avenger Rumored to Join The Batman Sequel

Stan portrayed Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier in a number of Marvel movies. It’s not known who he will be playing in the upcoming Dark Knight flick or whether he will be a villain or an ally to Bruce Wayne.

Netflix to Maintain Warner Bros.’ Current Operations
Combination Will Offer More Choice and Greater Value for Consumers, Create More Opportunities for the Creative Community and Generate Shareholder Value
Acquisition Will Strengthen the Entertainment Industry
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Dec. 5, 2025 – Today, Netflix, Inc. (the Company) and Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. (WBD) announced they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Netflix will acquire Warner Bros., including its film and television studios, HBO Max and HBO.
The cash and stock transaction is valued at $27.75 per WBD share (subject to a collar as detailed below), with a total enterprise value of approximately $82.7 billion (equity value of $72.0 billion). The transaction is expected to close after the previously announced separation of WBD’s Global Networks division, Discovery Global, into a new publicly-traded company, which is now expected to be completed in Q3 2026.
This acquisition brings together two pioneering entertainment businesses, combining Netflix’s innovation, global reach and best-in-class streaming service with Warner Bros.’ century-long legacy of world-class storytelling. Beloved franchises, shows and movies such as The Big Bang Theory, The Sopranos, Game of Thrones,The Wizard of Oz and the DC Universe will join Netflix’s extensive portfolio including Wednesday, Money Heist, Bridgerton, Adolescence and Extraction, creating an extraordinary entertainment offering for audiences worldwide.
“Our mission has always been to entertain the world,” said Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix. “By combining Warner Bros.’ incredible library of shows and movies—from timeless classics like Casablanca and Citizen Kane to modern favorites like Harry Potter and Friends—with our culture-defining titles like Stranger Things, KPop Demon Hunters and Squid Game, we’ll be able to do that even better. Together, we can give audiences more of what they love and help define the next century of storytelling.”
“This acquisition will improve our offering and accelerate our business for decades to come,” continued Greg Peters, co-CEO of Netflix. “Warner Bros. has helped define entertainment for more than a century and continues to do so with phenomenal creative executives and production capabilities. With our global reach and proven business model, we can introduce a broader audience to the worlds they create—giving our members more options, attracting more fans to our best-in-class streaming service, strengthening the entire entertainment industry and creating more value for shareholders.”
“Today’s announcement combines two of the greatest storytelling companies in the world to bring to even more people the entertainment they love to watch the most,” said David Zaslav, President and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery. “For more than a century, Warner Bros. has thrilled audiences, captured the world’s attention, and shaped our culture. By coming together with Netflix, we will ensure people everywhere will continue to enjoy the world’s most resonant stories for generations to come.”
Combination Will Offer More Choice, More Opportunities, More Value
Complementary strengths and assets: Warner Bros.’ studios are world-class, with Warner Bros. recognized as a leading supplier of television titles and filmed entertainment. HBO and HBO Max also provide a compelling, complementary offering for consumers. Netflix expects to maintain Warner Bros.’ current operations and build on its strengths, including theatrical releases for films.
More choice and greater value for consumers: By adding the deep film and TV libraries and HBO and HBO Max programming, Netflix members will have even more high-quality titles from which to choose. This also allows Netflix to optimize its plans for consumers, enhancing viewing options and expanding access to content.
A stronger entertainment industry: This acquisition will enhance Netflix’s studio capabilities, allowing the Company to significantly expand U.S. production capacity and continue to grow investment in original content over the long term which will create jobs and strengthen the entertainment industry.
More opportunities for the creative community: By uniting Netflix’s member experience and global reach with Warner Bros.’ renowned franchises and extensive library, the Company will create greater value for talent—offering more opportunities to work with beloved intellectual property, tell new stories and connect with a wider audience than ever before.
More value for shareholders: By offering members a wider selection of quality series and films, Netflix expects to attract and retain more members, drive more engagement and generate incremental revenue and operating income. The Company also expects to realize at least $2-3 billion of cost savings per year by the third year and expects the transaction to be accretive to GAAP earnings per share by year two.
Deadline is reporting that Scarlett Johansson is being eyed for role in 'The Batman Part 2’ opposite Robert Pattinson. No info on what character she’ll portray if signed. Rumor has it that she will play Andrea Beaumont, a.k.a. the Phantasm.
This comes the same day that Variety is saying, Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman is not expected to return for the film, (according to sources with knowledge of the production).
The release date of THE BATMAN 2 is currently set for October 1, 2027, but has been delayed a number of times.
While we (im)patiently wait for Matt Reeves’ The Batman: Part II, we’re taking a look back at the first film with a new alternative movie poster from Bruno Vergauwen!
Bruno’s previous poster for The Crow showcased just how brilliantly in sync the artist is with darker, rain-slicked, more gothic aesthetics, and we’re excited to keep Bruno going down this dark parth with a new poster for The Batman. Featuring a truly inspired composition that focuses on Robert Pattinson’s excellent take on the Caped Crusader, Bruno’s print paints a (Bat)man on a mission to save his city from The Riddler.
Bruno’s Batman print will be available Wednesday (11/3) @ 12PM ET on Bottleneckgallery.com!

The 2025 film Superman, directed by James Gunn, follows Clark Kent/Kal-El (David Corenswet) as he balances his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as a reporter in Metropolis. Three years into his career as the world’s most powerful superhero, Superman intervenes to stop the nation of Boravia from invading Jarhanpur, earning the ire of the ruthless billionaire Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult).
Luthor, resenting Superman for overshadowing human ingenuity, frames him for an international incident using advanced technology and a monstrous kaiju-like threat, tarnishing his reputation and forcing him to retreat to the Fortress of Solitude to recover.
With help from Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), Jimmy Olsen (Skyler Gisondo), and a ragtag team of heroes—including Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), and Metamorpho (Anthony Carrigan)—Superman must embrace his dual identity, restore public trust, and thwart Luthor’s scheme to prove that compassion and hope can triumph over cynicism in a world of metahumans and monsters.
Though the screenplay isn’t flawless, it provides a solid foundation for this reboot, setting the stage for future films to build upon. David Corenswet’s Superman and Clark Kent are both heartfelt and playful; he seems to enjoy life and his role as the Man of Steel much more than Henry Cavill’s version. Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan do have nice on-screen chemistry, but it’s far from the backbone of this film.
Nicholas Hoult’s Luthor is solid and focused, although he comes off as a rich bratty teenager most of the time. I will say that after Jesse Eisenberg, anyone would be an improvement.
Probably my favorite element of this film was the addition of Superman’s loyal canine companion Krypto, gifted with similar superpowers like strength, flight, and enhanced senses. Krypto serves as both a comedic sidekick and a key ally. His role blends humor—through his playful, dog-like antics despite his immense power—with emotional depth, reinforcing Superman’s connection to his Kryptonian roots and his humanity. His presence also lightens the narrative, offering moments of levity and heart, while symbolizing loyalty and the idea that even a superhero needs a trusted friend.
What made the Guardians of the Galaxy films so entertaining to me, were the steady mix of action, adventure and comedic elements. James Gunn brought those same fundamentals to Superman. The steady mix makes the over 2-hour runtime fly by (pun intended). The “Justice Gang” in this film really helps to keep the mood light, especially with the welcome inclusions of Mister Terrific and Guy Gardner/Green Lantern. The only thing that felt forced to me was the cameo at the end of the film, which sets up another DC Film.
