The Week is stupid as a time division
Days - Based on the rotation of the Earth
Months - Based (roughly) on the lunar cycle
Years - Based on the orbit of the Earth
Weeks - COMPLETELY ARBITRARY
It’s one thing that weeks aren’t based on anything, but then you gotta be weird about it too.
Weeks are 7 days long. I would argue that 7 is the most awkward of the single digit prime numbers, especially when dealing with months that have an average of 30 days, AND ESPECIALLY WHEN 6 AND 8 YIELD MUCH NICER NUMBERS.
30/6 = 5
30/7 = 4.28571428571… (current system)
30/8 = 3.75
It always pisses me off how the week is divided like this and it’s viewed as completely normal, like…No It’s Not.
I get there’s Abrahamic religion things with the number 7 and the ancient Babylonians labeling each day of the week in accordance to the 7 classical planets. But like c'mon man, let me have this.
