After stumbling onto the Bizenghast wiki, i want to see how feasible it would be for me to read the series. Come to find out the physical version of Volume 8 is apparently super duper rare??? And like all the second hand sellers have it listed for hundreds, if not thousands of dollars?? 😭😭
I know the series is over a decade old at this point, but like what went on with the printing of this volume that it so rare?

for anyone interested I am working on the outline still for stagtown x cinderella boy fanfic I’m just trying my best to change stagtown’s story enough to make it clear chase has in fact changed a books play out again while also making it the same story (and ya know make sure i accidentally don’t do plagiarism)
anyway I am making it and chase is skipping parts franky did in stagtown cus they are going into this book with no notes! (its like 1st chapter talk here but pretty obvious when “just change enough to make them not realize its a horror” won so-)
ANYWAY- so like I mentioned earlier chase is gonna be changing parts of the story so i’m trying to still get lore of stagtown to fit in when he is gonna be missing key plot moments so while i am working on this its still gonna take a while (don’t want to post 1st chapter yet for just in case I want to change things in it later)
as for the outline I have chapter 1 done and chapter 2 is either done or close to being finished (outline wise)

Stagtown related dream
So about a week or so ago, I had this dream where the Stagtown trio (Felix, Frankie, and Jeremy) for some reason went back to Stagtown, I think to see what the status of the town was, and if any of the rat king entity was still causing trouble. Anyways, it turns out that the Rat King entity/collective was still existing but wasn’t really causing much trouble anymore. This is due to a good portion of the Rat King parts/members (you know, the dead people that made up the Rat King) feeling really enlightened by the trio’s actions, feeling like it showed them that even though they can’t “move on” to a more fulfilling afterlife, they have made peace with their past actions (at least as much as possible for them) and realized that causing more pain to the living doesn’t help them at all. There are still a few parts of the Rat King that cause trouble here and there, but the damage is nowhere near what it used to be. The most trouble these parts of the Rat King can cause are mostly mild inconveniences for the town people, like causing whoever living person they are currently mad at to forget where their car keys are in the morning or something.
But for the most part, a majority of the Rat King entity/collective is really thankful for the Stagtown trio for causing them to reevaluate their actions and worldview and all that and decide to do something to thank them. However, they decide to do this by forcefully turning one of the trio (I am not quite sure who it was in my dream, but I think it was Jeremy, though it is possible that each trio member took turns as the baby deer) into a baby deer that never ages, with the idea being that whoever was turned into a baby deer “would get the gift of never growing enough to eventually develop sins, and therefore never be forced to confront said sins” I remember being aware enough to know that this was a dream, and I really did try to change the baby deer into a lamb because I thought that would make more sense in a Christianity sense, but I couldn’t. I guess during the dream I forgot that the literal name of the comic is “Stagtown” and that the baby deer part makes a lot more sense than a lamb.
I don’t remember exactly what happened next, but I think that what happened next is that the Stagtown trio, one of them now in the form and mindset of a baby deer (Is still themselves in the sense that they have positive views of their friends, Little Friend, and such, and feel scared of the Rat King, and so on and so on) is now trying to find a way to fix it

tbh stagtown is way more my speed but cinderella boy is neat! not generally a huge fan of those webtoon yaois but its pretty compelling (also chase and deacon are painfully relatable)
