OMFG I just started season 2 of One Piece(Live action) and I just this moment realized the actress for Nami(Emily Rudd) looks so much like Kari Byron(Mythbusters) that I can’t unsee it!

I’d like to see Andy Dwyer and Ron Swanson host a season of mythbusters, just imagine the chaos
“perhaps adam and jamie should think about a career in special effects!” i love you mythbusters narrator
If mythbusters wasn’t a show primarily aimed at children they definitely would’ve done an episode on saw
Mythbuster re-watch has me thinking about reworked idioms
“He was like a bull in a china shop, surprisingly delicate and wary in an unfamiliar situation.”
“It went over like a lead balloon; impossibly delicate and absurdly large.”
“It’s like finding a needle in a hay stack, you ruin a lot of hay.”
“Lets get on our knees and pray. I don’t know to who. Is there a patron saint of ballistics yet?” - Adam Savage

Gotta get some hands on research, for science of course.
Can’t possibly research this subject enough. Always more to learn.
Next time on nutbusters!
kinda surprised that mythbusters and jackass never got together and broke all of steve-o’s bones in the name of science, or something like that
ADAM: (grinning like a maniac as usual) “Jamie. The fans have spoken. Paper cuts apparently hurt more than regular cuts. More nerve endings, cleaner edges, something about the wound staying open longer—people swear it’s true.”
JAMIE: (skeptical) “If the fans on the fansite told you to jump off a cliff, would you do it?”
ADAM: “Great idea, let’s table that for next season.”
JAMIE: “So how are we testing this?”
ADAM: (holding up a single sheet of 80gsm office paper like it’s Excalibur) “Behold. The weapon of mass irritation.”
TORY: “I’m starting to regret volunteering for the ‘quick pain myth’ segment.”
Adam grips the sheet of paper and with theatrical slowness draws the edge across the underside of Tory’s wrist.
The moment the edge catches skin, Tory’s entire body language changes.
TORY: (voice jumping an octave) “OHHHH—WHAT THE—”
The episode was pulled from syndication due to depictions of excessive violence and gore.
Helloooo my dear Astriar!
I saw Avatar: Fire and Ash yesterday with my dear friend! I thought it was very good, very well done. Varang is scary and gorgeous and I wish she’d gotten even more screentime. For a three hour movie, it was impressive how it never lulled.
“The Hand” by Annabelle Dinda. It very much reminds me of my secret Fem! Starscream au and it’s legitimately all I’ve been listening to this month.
Storytelling, as I said in Obby’s ask, but if I gave a SECOND TED Talk, it would be about the cultural impact of the Mythbusters and why shows like that are so important. Perhaps how the TV show Mythbusters was the most important show in TV history.
It taught watchers to question the widely accepted myths in our world, explained the scientific method, provided humanity with answers to burning questions, and above all the Mythbusters taught us to always blow things up
I loved the Mythbusters when I was little when I was home sick from school I would binge all the episodes and I would always tell my parents about it and explain all the science I learned and tell them about all the cool explosions
One year for Christmas my parents got me VIP tickets to their tour and I got to sit second row and meet them afterwards and take pictures/get them to sign stuff
I brought my Polaroid with me (this was before Polaroids got popular again like 2012 at the latest) and I got to the front of the picture line (the line still went almost the whole length of the room behind me) and I handed my camera to the 20 something girl who worked at the venue to take my picture and she just looks at me at goes I don’t know how to work this so I start explaining it to her and Adam is like DID YOU BRING A POLAROID!!!! And Jamie is like whoa I didn’t know kids still used those and in the back of the line someone screams out SHES A HIPSTER!!! With the same energy of someone screaming she’s a witch.
But then we took the photo and they let me take two cause they thought the camera was so fun and then they came over to sign the Polaroids and they were asking me all these questions about it and I got to tell them all about my Polaroid collection and how they just started making some newer models under Fuji film and how they’re gonna make a real come back and they were both so nice and excited and like hanging on my every word it was SUCH a great experience
