Maybe it’s bad timing to answer this after Link being a raging gay mess in today’s episode (Eated Rivalry) but lately I also have started doubting more and more they will ever get on with it, not because I have changed my mind about this being real or not, but because Rhett seems to have a very big issue with the outing prospect. I think Link got a bit scared when he realised that the whole situation is probably affecting Rhett’s physical and mental health, and it’s not just that Rhett is not as committed to the idea as he is. I think Link has been realising that Rhett is perhaps genuinely in no position to be pushed into it.

My reasoning is that it seems like there is no cell in Christy that would be okay with this (no judgement, there wouldn’t be such a cell in me either) and I think if Jessie knew who the “third person” is she would have huge problems to accept it too. So if there is such an arrangement between the McLaughlins, I think there must be an agreement of each one keeping the potential affairs all to themselves. I know people already hate the possibility of this happening with an arrangement, let alone what I am actually proposing, which is the very unglamorous possibility of them being the word that starts with “ch…” and ends in “…ers”.

I haven’t watched the whole video but only the very moment of that exchange. I don’t know, it could be suspicious or not. Link did say in an amused manner “I am not!” specifically after Rhett said they are themselves at home, however it was a moment, a beat where Rhett took a breath and so Link squeezed in with his joke. My point is that maybe Link meant he is not the same person in GMM and at home but him saying it the moment Rhett was saying “we are ourselves at home” made it sound like he is not truly himself with his family.
Just playing devil’s advocate here. It could totally also mean what it sounded like. I am just keeping it a little open for potential bad timing.
