With some convincing, Emma accepts the offer, but after meeting the band, she regrets taking the offer after all. She just can’t seem to find it in her to cope with being on tour with him for months on end.

Oh my god isn’t it just beautiful and poetic how Nickel couldn’t tell what’s real and what’s not and who truly cared for him and who truly didn’t and assumed most people went along with what he wanted because of his luck, but despite that he still trusted balloon - (“shut up. I can tell it’s really you")
but even now without his luck balloon is the one to prove nickel’s fear. In a way confirm it wasn’t real between them just as he suspected
BALLOON of all people. Balloon, the one nickel actually thought would be on his side regardless of his luck
But Nickel made the mistake of not trusting Balloon. Of prioritizing the comfort of Candle and Silver Spoon over Balloon.
And of course balloon was agonizing over the fact that lately nobody seemed to care about his input or opinions or HIM in general, and nickel prioritized the others over him too. And he’s a big validation seeker so that clearly hurt him, thinking nickel had a low opinion on him. Especially finding out nickel still doesn’t trust him, when balloon yearns to be trusted.
Oh, to want to be trusted, and to be unable to trust. How pathetic of them, really
