if your pyrex is spelled PYREX with all capital letters, it’s real pyrex that uses borosilicate glass which is SAFE FOR HIGH TEMPERATURES and very resistant thermal shock (like going from oven to fridge) but not very strong and can shatter if dropped.
if it is pyrex with lowercase letters, it is made of soda-lime, which is more cost effective and STURDIER, but PRONE TO SHATTERING IF SUBJECT TO THERMAL SHOCK. be careful when using it for baking!
